Description
Are you sick and tired or looking at all the vehicles around you and thinking "I wish I could use this welding torch to convert those cars to scrap metal but alas! The creators have decreed that only wrecked or burnt cars may be dismantled, and no matter how many parts I break off or how many molotovs I throw at this car it shall never be considered a wreck, for to be a wreck is a condition a car must be born with."

This mod has you covered! It extends the "Dismantle Wrecked Car" context menu to include "Dismantle Car" when you right click on a non-wrecked, non-burnt vehicle.

Additional sandbox options on the Vehicle page allow you to adjust the amount of fuel needed for disassembly, change the amount of material generated and replace use of a welding mask with good ol' Kentucky safety squints.

I installed the mod and it is not showing up on my mod list

Are you using B41? Because this mod is B42 only.

Is it safe to add/remove this mod on an existing save?

Yes. If you change the sandbox settings you will need to quit and restart the game before the new setting take effect.

Is it safe to squint tightly while welding instead of using a welding mask?

The Australian prime minister has personally certified the use of safety squints when welding.[i.imgur.com]


Does dismantling a functional car produce more raw materials than a wreck/burnt out car?

Additional materials are generated based on the condition of the vehicle's parts. A car with all parts at 100% will generate approximately 80% more raw materials. The type of materials generated is unchanged.


What if I want to keep some of the car parts?

Remove them before dismantling.


What happens to items inside a car when I dismantle it?

They get dropped on the ground with the rest of the scrap metal.


What happens to animals inside an animal trailer when I dismantle it?

They get teleported to a farm upstate to happily live out the rest of their lives in a place of peace and contentment with a friendly farmer who takes care of all of their needs.

Never mind Im not getting the option to dismantle it, I've clicked everywhere and even broken the car to the point its at 10% condition, I've got it enabled and everything

Finally! now that giant useless ass red van I brought to my base can be made into something!
Brought it to base because it had so much welding stuff in the back and it was in horrible condition

@pr0ton that normally means Steam is not downloading the mod properly. This can usually be fixed by closing PZ, unsubscribing, waiting a few minutes, resubscribing.

Build 42.11.0 here. I have no idea why, but the mod is not showing up in the mods list neither when trying to add more mods to an existing save.

@Mitty B42 only. There are some other B41 mods that provide the same functionality, though the one I used to use is old enough you need to edit the propane requirement because it is still calibrates for 100 units per torch instead of 10.

Hi, so basically i added it mid save but i still dont have an option to dismantle the cars, the mod is turned on and "lua" changes everytime i load up the save file but mod is just not working... (im in B42)
