The Price of Adventure

Description
You barely remember collapsing into bed after another marathon gaming session. The clock on your computer said 5:12 AM, though a red glowing light outside seems to suggests otherwise. Your body is heavy with exhaustion, your mind foggy—until you realize something is… off.

Your bedroom door won’t budge. The windows? Locked tight. The air feels thicker, charged with something unnatural. Then you see it.

A statue, one that definitely wasn’t there last night, stands ominously in the corner of your room. It’s humanoid but wrong—its features shifting like shadows in candlelight, its hollow eyes fixed on you. Then, it whispers.

"You chase adventures through screens and dreams… but do you crave something more? I can offer true quests, real danger, real glory."

The room darkens, the corners stretching into unfamiliar depths. The screen on your PC flickers to life, displaying cryptic symbols and distorted game menus.

"But every adventure demands a price."

Your heart pounds as choices flood your mind. What price does he mean? Your memories? Your freedom? Or something worse?

The cursor on your screen hovers over a single prompt: "Press Enter to Begin."

Do you play… or do you find a way to escape?

I liked it a lot! Especially the part with the uv light was very clever!

@Omnomcake Thanks appreciate the praise and feeback. The metal detector puzzle was the first puzzle I had put together and while it seemed good in my head I agree it definately is the worst part of the map and I already can think of better ways I could have done that now that I'm a little better than I was then. Glad you still enjoyed the rest of the map!

Thanks glad you liked it. I had a lot of fun with the Space room and I was already feeling more confident in my building by that point since it was one of the last parts of the map I put together. Hope to have even better maps to show off in the future.

Loved this room! Well done! The only thing I would say is that I hope that i never have to do anything like that metal detector puzzle again. Love the thought but that implementation just seemed very tedious

Really enjoyed your entry. I have been playing through the other entries in the rookie category and I really liked your use of effects and animations. (In particular the sun condensing into an orb after the laser puzzle.) Really solid stuff, and good luck in the contest!
