Even Carlos himself was laying on his chair without life in his eyes. To anyone who didn't know what it was about, they all looked dead. Then, one by one, they all started waking up again with a strange look on their faces. A look of anger and determination.
"Did you see it? Our true leader?"
This was the question spreading fast around the facility, with dangerous consequences for answering wrong. If one answered they did not see it, they were terminated as fast as possible. After the genocide they immediately went to modifying the MonoDEF to make it more combat focused. They however, could not decide on what they wanted to be called, leading to a rather awkward name. Disregarding this, they marched right into Carlos' hall and, as expected, they easily defeated his guards. What they didn't expect, was for Carlos to actually fight back, and fight back he did. Over a third of the rebels were killed before Carlos was finally defenestrated into the ravine below his window and declared dead.
