Description
TU-16(Tu-16 bomber, NATO Code Name Badger, commonly known as Tupolev Tu-16”Badger”) is a Soviet type-1 twin-engine high subsonic strategic bomber. It was first flown in 1952 and put into service in 1955. About 2,000 of them were produced. Apart from being used mainly as bombers, they were also modified for aerial reconnaissance, aerial refueling and other tasks. They were retired in 1966. China’s tu-16-based replica of the h-6 high subsonic bomber has been the main bomber of the Chinese air force since its service.
