The Edoa Patent Office

Hello all!

I bring you the The Edoa Patent Office, commissioned by Cartoonist_Key (aka Edoa).

This building houses the patent office, which primarily deals with patents and/or trademark proposals within the Brickstate county area.

A lobby, managers office and boardroom occupy the top floor of the building. This floor can be accessed via the seat behind the ground floor entrance door. Simply sit in the seat and exit. You will be teleported to the top floor, and vice versa. The same method is used to reach the building's roof, using the seat located behind the stairwell doors.

There are three interior switches on the walls, these are to activate three sets of lights on the floor. Two main lights, for the lobby and office. And one switch for the two standing lamps in the corners of the CEO's office space.

The Edoa Patent Office was founded at the turn of the century, and originally occupied a small four storey building located on the North side of Bricksburg. In 1955, the company signed a contract with the State government, which gave them the right to file and process all patent and trademark proceedings within the entirety of Brickstate. This was to free up department space at the National Patent & Trademark Offices in Washington D.C.

This new contract required an increase of workers, so it was decided that the premises be moved to another location.
In 1958, a new building (partially state funded) was constructed. This Mid-century Modern style skyscraper now incorporated much needed space for extra departments.
The building was originally a white/grey colour but, in 1983, due plaster panel damage, the building was renovated and painted black. Apart from a few additions, the interior decor stayed mostly the same to pay homage to the original design vision.

Although being rather small and uninteresting building, especially when compared to its neighbours, The Edoa Patent Office holds a valuable place in Bricksburg.
