Lights++

Description
Expands Lights with more features!
Twice the light strength, a light range setting, a default state setting, and the ability to paint the light and it's bulb separately!

Important!
  • This mod offers you the option of having the modded lights override the vanilla lights, making it so your builds have the extra features by default, and the option of having the modded lights as their own, separate parts, meaning that they will not apply to your past builds.
  • By default, the modded lights are unique, and do not override vanilla lights.
  • This setting can be toggled in-game, using the /toggleLightsOverride chat command. You will need to re-enter the world for the change to take effect.
  • The drawback of the override option is that, due to how Scrap Mechanic handles overriden parts, lights already placed in the world will be broken. They can be fixed by simply picking them up and putting them back down, but in warehouses for example, you wont be able to do that(since they are build protected).

  • If you and the person you're joining in multiplayer don't have the same override setting, funky things will start happening. You will see a warning in the chat when this happens.
  • If an override mismatch does occur, just type /toggleLightsOverride in the chat, and re-join the game. After that, there should be no mismatch.
  • (Yes, I know, this is kinda annoying, but the game doesn't allow you to refresh a client's part collection on the fly)

Features
  • Applies to all lights:
    • An extra 15 strength settings, going from a maximum of 10 to 25. This allows you to make much brighter lights
    • Setting whether the light should be on or off by default
    • The ability to paint the light and its emitted light colour separately
    • Connecting a Color Block from The Modpack will set the light's bulb colour
  • Only applies to some lights:
    • A maximum range setting, allowing you to make lights that reach really far away

Have fun!

I don't know what to tell you, other than that the mod works fine. You can see in this video that everything is working flawlessly.

I see that only the outer color changes, not the color of the light beam or the light itself.
Also, it doesn’t take the color from the RGB block.
Without these two features, it’s completely useless to me.

I didn't want to mess with other mods' parts, so I didnt override them.

The light not changing colour is an intentional feature, it can be painted separately from the casing itself. If you press your Tinker keybind(default is U ) while looking at the light, you can toggle between paint modes, which allows you to paint the light instead of the casing.

I use lights a lot, like spotlights, for stage setups, rides, etc., and I’ve noticed 2 problems with this mod.

The lights from other mods (which I use much more) are not compatible with this feature.

When I turn on a light and change its color, the light always stays yellow. With the modpack, I normally use the RGB block to change the color as I prefer, even with automatic gradient effects. Unfortunately, the result is very disappointing because it just stays yellow.

If these 2 issues get fixed, I’ll be supporter number 1 xD
