Naerumbane:

Lyngby-Nærum Jernbane (LNJ) in the Copenhagen area purchased the first RegioSprinter multiple-unit train in 1996 and four more in 1998. They were given the series designation LNJ Lm and the road numbers 21-25 and were used on the line between Nærum and Jægersborg. A striking difference to the RegioSprinters of the Rurtal railway are the large rail scrapers designed as snow clearers at the ends of the vehicles.

The Lm 21 was introduced in September 1996 with a presentation tour of all Danish private railways. On 12 October 1998, the multiple unit collided with LNJ YM 20 at the depot in Jægersborg, suffered a total loss and was scrapped in the same year.

Lokaltog;

From 2002, operations on the only eight kilometre long line were carried out by Lokalbanen A/S (LB), which had taken over several smaller railway companies in the Copenhagen area. At this time, the railcars became the property of Hovedstadens Lokalbaner, which leased them to LB. There they were given the road numbers LB Lm 22-25 (UIC designation: 95 86 0654 022-X - 95 86 0654 025-X).

From this time onwards, they were gradually given the local livery in light grey and yellow, followed by further minor modifications. For example, the scrolling destination displays were replaced with modern LED destination displays, and the displays in the passenger compartment were also improved. The ticket validators that were no longer needed were removed.

On 1 July 2015, Lokalbanen A/S merged with the company Regionstog to form Lokaltog A/S; this new company comprises various formerly independent private railways on Zealand and Lolland.
