The Chevrolet Camaro is an American muscle car produced by the Chevrolet division of General Motors since 1966. Production ceased in 2002 and resumed on a new technical base in 2009.

In mid-December 2023, the last Camaro rolled off the assembly line at the Lansing plant . Production of the sixth-generation model ended. Chevrolet representatives say this is not the end of the series and that a successor to the model will be named over time.

After a long break, the fifth-generation Camaro of the 2010 model year appeared in 2009. The new car was developed by the Australian division of GM Holden on the basis of its own GM Zeta platform. The exterior was developed by South Korean designer Sang Yup Lee, also known for his work with Bentley .

The car was offered in five trim levels: LS, 1LT, 2LT, SS. The LS and LT trim levels were equipped with a 3.6-liter V6 engine with a capacity of 304 hp, while the SS trim level had a 6.2-liter V8 with a capacity of 427 hp with a manual transmission and 400 hp with an automatic transmission . The LS and LT trim levels were equipped with 18-inch wheel disks, and the SS had 20-inch ones. All cars had independent rear suspension, variable-ratio steering, and six airbags. The maximum speed was 245 km/h.

At the Chicago Auto Show, Chevrolet unveiled a new Camaro model, the ZL1, equipped with a mechanical supercharger and intercooler, a 6.2L V-8 engine that produces 580 horsepower, a six-speed manual dual-clutch transmission, MagneRide active suspension wheels and 14.4/14.6-inch Brembo brakes. The car went on sale in early 2012. The ZL1 price is $54,095.
