Description
Currently for Stellaris 4.1. Should work all the way back to 3.12, but no earlier than that.



Exterminate!

Conquer the galaxy in the style of everybody's favourite genocidal salt shakers! Standalone portrait mod, so that people can just subscribe to the modules they want and things don't all break at once with game updates. Hopefully.

Features:
- Several Dalek portraits, including unique colour schemes for your Admirals, Scientists etc, and several unique Leader portraits.
- Sound effects
- Two versions available in the Portrait selection screens - The mod includes both a "Biological" pop type and a "Robot" pop type (requires Synthetic Dawn or Machine Age DLC), so that you can choose your preferred method of pop assembly.

No custom traits as I wanted to keep it as vanilla as possible for those who aren't a fan of heavier modding. For those who are, there are plenty of extra trait mods on the workshop, or see the Other Mods section below.



Known Issues:
- "Dalek" shows up as a duplicate of the Fungoid shipset if my Dalek Shipset is not present.
- The prescripted Dalek Empire will only show up in the list or spawn in-game if you are also using my Dalek Shipset mod. Starting to see why people don't normally split these.
- The Defense Platform sometimes doesn't show up in the pre-game ship viewer, but works completely fine in-game and in the ship editor.



Future Updates:
- Dalek City type. Currently just falls back to the Fungoid one. One will be added eventually, but honestly this mod has been sitting completely useable for months other than that and I just wanted it uploaded already.
- Dalek Diplomacy Room Variants

This portrait set and my Dalek Shipset are now built into the Whoniverse Galaxy Mod, so if you want to play with game-changing elements, use that.

*(Technically these should run fine together, everything will work as it should, but Dalek traits from that mod are not usable on the Dalek portraits from this mod and you'd end up with duplicate portrait sets.)

Should also be completely compatible with Nouvilas' Dalek mod for those of you wanting Classic Daleks once it gets updated to the new Portrait handling. Otherwise that should be used instead by anyone running pre-3.12 playthroughs.

Looks like my game hadn't updated properly, verified files and the vanilla species class file magically changed! Has now been updated and no more errors :)

Hiya - thanks! I noticed that when I was checking the 4.1 compatibility. It's weird, because it's exactly the same as the vanilla portrait sets. Doesn't seem to actually affect anything but I'll keep looking into it because I hate errors in the log :P

Hmm, I noticed a small error:

Other than that, I think everything else work as usual. Thank you for your hard work.

Hm, I think I did set the category so that it can't be randomly selected, but I didn't think that would affect its ability to be used on Guaranteed-spawning custom empires - I'll do some experimenting when I get the chance.

I cant force spawn a Dalek empire for some reason, even after the typical tricks (change empire name, change origin, etc)

You could put the biological Dalek portrait with the Necroids or Molluskuids, then you would automatically have access to their specific optional traits.

It is also possible to add additional optional traits. For example, all vanilla portraits with wings automatically have the option for “Flying”, regardless of their species category.

Unsure, I'd have to look into it. I haven't had the chance to play with Biogenesis yet but once I have I'll take a look into adding some other options.

Can you make a customization so that you can use the species-specific traits from the Biogenesis update? Traits like “Spare Organs”, “Shelled” etc. can only be selected if the species portrait has this option added manually.

Would that be feasible?
