[READ DESC] Tahsis Lumber Co. Railway

Description
Creator: Val (Yamnuska)

Please watch the video on Steam to know how to operate the trains!

This is essentially just a railway to test trains.
It's 2 foot / 8 block gauge (3 inch scaling).

This is more of a proof of concept than anything. There's not much here, just a jank railway, a wye, and a shed. Quality of life is nonexistent.

This is a laggy map. It'll take quite a while to load in. If your framerate is terrible once you've loaded in, turn down the model detail in video settings. This will deload some of the railway far from you. I get about 45 FPS with all the rolling stock frozen, on medium model detail.

The trains are VERY laggy. In the world settings, use 100 update rate and default constraint accuracy. I get about 10 FPS with one locomotive spawned. You can also lower the game's speed with "TimeScale number" in the console, this might improve your framerate.

I recommend deleting any rolling stock / locomotives you aren't using.

Use Tahsis #1, Sidney, if you want speed. Sidney spawns inside the shed. It's fast, but weak. It tracks horribly because of its 0-4-2 wheel arrangement. Frequently derails on jank rail.

Use Tahsis #3, Somenos, if you want power. Somenos spawns outside of the shed, in front of the main door. It's slow, but powerful. It tracks well.

Please, don't upload anything from this world to the workshop.

that is shocking to me lol, I've always had performance issues in gearblocks and this world has been especially bad on my end, nice to hear others are getting better results though

also get 40+ fps with a railroad, train and two wagons with reduced physics, and 25-30 with standard

fps drops by 1.5-2 times in exclusive full-screen mode, fps also drops by 2 times if you open the world settings, and be sure to turn off contact detection, I have almost 60 fps with a railroad and 1 train if these conditions are met
