In the middle of winter
late into night
A train traveling northward
barely in sight

The great roar of the engine
whistle aloud
Clacking of wheels and steel track
driving through clouds

Free ginger bread and pastries
cocoa in mug
Dressed up for the holidays
cozy and snug

As The Midwinter Express
nears it's station
The passengers disembark
with elation

When next the express depart
Why not hop on and take part
