CH BLS RABe 528 Mika

The RABe 528 (also known as MIKA, short for modern innovative compact all-round train) are BLS's electric regional express and S-Bahn multiple-unit trains and are part of Stadler's new Flirt 4 family. The first trains were put into operation in 2021.
The multiple units were ordered in a RegioExpress and a S-Bahn version. Trains in the RegioExpress version will be delivered first, with units 125-130 going to BLS FV. Trains in the S-Bahn version are to be deployed from 2023. The first two S-Bahn trains went into operation in November 2022.

The RegioExpress MIKA trains are built with one door per carriage body and side; they are equipped with a bistro zone with snack and coffee vending machines. They are similar to the Südostbahn Traverso in terms of their equipment. The S-Bahn version has two doors per carriage body and side and also has the S-Bahn Bern logo printed on it.

They are also used on a few IR Lines and on an international RegioExpress to Domodossola in italy.
