Abyssinia 1935-36

Description
The lead-up to the Abyssinian War of 1935-1936 was shaped by a mix of Italian nationalism, colonial ambition, and the weaknesses of international diplomacy. After Italy's defeat at the Battle of Adwa in 1896, where Ethiopian forces repelled Italian colonial advances, Italy sought revenge and a new foothold in Africa to boost its global prestige.
Under Benito Mussolini's fascist regime, the desire to establish a renewed Roman Empire became a central goal, and Abyssinia (Ethiopia) was a prime target. In 1934, a border incident at Walwal between Italian and Ethiopian forces provided Mussolini with a pretext for invasion. As tensions escalated, Ethiopia appealed to the League of Nations for support. However, the League, weakened by divisions among its members and unwilling to confront Italy directly, failed to impose effective sanctions. This lack of meaningful international intervention emboldened Mussolini, leading to Italy's full-scale invasion of Ethiopia in October 1935.

DESIGNER NOTE:
This campaign is a slightly different take on UoC. It is rather one big scenario divided into smaller missions. Many of the secondary objectives have a direct impact on the maps that follow. The briefing before each scenario is therefore supported by reports from the Italian Army intelligence service, Servizio Informazioni Militare.

ATTENTION!!! There is a certain amount of overwritten content included in the package that may affect the appearance or names/text of some items when playing other campaigns. This applies primarily to the Axis campaigns and the Desert Rats DLC.
