Barricades, Doors, Windows, and Vehicles Hurt Zombies [B42]

This mod was originally inspired by Brightex's Barricade Hurt Zombies. This mod makes zombies take damage when attacking barricades, doors, windows, and now vehicles! This mod introduces sophisticated damage systems that make your fortifications truly matter in the zombie apocalypse.

How It Works
When zombies attack structures or vehicles, they take damage based on what they're attacking. The system intelligently identifies different materials and vehicle parts:

Material Damage Multipliers:
  • Wood Structures: Base damage (1.0×)
  • Metal Structures: 25% more damage (1.25×)
  • Heavy Metal: 40% more damage (1.4×)
  • Light Spikes: 50% more damage (1.5×) - Coming with SVU3 integration
  • Heavy Spikes: 75% more damage (1.75×) - Coming with SVU3 integration
  • Reinforced: Double damage (2.0×) - Coming with SVU3 integration

Vehicle System
The mod now features a sophisticated vehicle damage system that:
  • Detects which part of the vehicle zombies are attacking (engine, doors, trunk)
  • Uses customized detection ranges for different vehicle parts
  • Implements angle-based targeting for realistic zombie attacks
  • Applies appropriate damage multipliers based on material type

Sandbox Options
Customize the mod to your liking:
  • Base Damage: Control how much damage zombies take (0-100%)
  • Material Multipliers: Adjust damage for different materials
  • Damage Source Selection: Choose which objects can hurt zombies
  • Blood Effects: Toggle visual feedback

Current Status
The mod is fully functional for all base game content and vehicles. SVU3 (Standardized Vehicle Upgrades 3) integration is currently under development. During this phase:
  • All vehicles are recognized and processed
  • Vehicle damage works correctly
  • All modded vehicles currently use the base metal multiplier (1.25×)
  • Full SVU3 armor type detection coming in future updates

Recent optimizations have significantly improved mod performance:
  • Efficient damage processing system
  • Optimized code structure
  • Reduced overhead in critical paths
  • Minimal impact on game performance

i tested without this mod , zeds would fly also , basicaly its the ragdoll bug not this mod , they fall from 2nd floor also will trigger this flying zed , seem zed must be kill by player only the bug is not trigger

Barricades Hurting Zombies mods are not compatible with ragdoll atm. Hope there will be a fix. Good luck! Love the idea behind the mod still!

as the few comments below stated,

zeds would fly hitting the door with ragdoll enabled, causing them to clip into the door/wall/floor.

Bug/Balance Feedback
Hello, I found some balance and bug issues in the mod:
The minimum extra damage for metal is currently set to 1.0. This causes zombies hitting a metal door to kill themselves very quickly, which feels unrealistic.
There is a bug: zombies that die this way will have all their clothes missing from the corpse.
Could you please check these values and fix the clothing disappearance issue?

Ah, ok, so this on ti's own is causing the weirdness with "dead" zombies that aren't dead. Was going to test around today thinking it was a conflict with this mod and another.

Up until the most recent update I loved this mod. Now, however, when they are thumping on doors, I can't kill them with melee weapons, it acts like they are already dead, but they turn and bite or scratch me before they actually die. It's weird. I've unsubbed for now, hope you fix it soon, it was a really great mod.

im getting the same crashes too, im running 200 plus mods i did some quick testing by removing the bandits mods played around 10-15 mins no crash, then anabled bandits game crashed back to main menu within 15 sec to 2 mins, i even disabled the options that allowed the bandits to break windows doors and barricades but it still crashed
