Wing Of Cybia

Description
Description: Being a personal project of mine, this large but very fast craft, will take some time getting used to, because of its unusual size and handling. Once tamed, however, it is very reliable.

PLEASE NOTE: This is the second re-release of my previous project of the same name. I guess I really should stop trying to fiddle excessively with model sizes.

Strengths and weaknesses:
+ High top-speed and decent acceleration.
+ Good stability and very powerful airbrakes.
+ Psionic anti-gravity field allows it to stay in the air for a long time.
+ Good psi-shield allows it to survive a bit of punishment.

- Large size makes it generally bad on narrow tracks.
- Difficult to overtake other ships.
- Slow handling without airbrakes.
- Excessive airbrake usage can easily destabilize the ship.
- Easy target for weapon-spam and sticks out from the rest of the ships.

Lore: When the Cybianians, a species of 5 meter tall, psionicly gifted bird-people, achieved complete internal stability and peace, their day-to-day lives slowed down significantly. Tending to their crop-fields and studying their local flora and fauna became their only necessities. This suited them just fine however and between the occasional ill weather, they enjoy a long and peaceful existence. Due to their psionic abilities, they also enjoy quite a few past-times, such as collective dreaming and meditation. Among those collective dreams, one of these became particulary popular, which eventually caught the attention of their empress. For a while these friendly, imaginary (literally) racing competitions were contained to their minds alone, but with insistance from the eager population, the empress began gathering the most talented engineers of their surprisingly small empire and their highly advanced technology was resurected and put to further use, beyond perfecting their agriculture.

Sending their ambassadors out into the void, the Cybianians searched for years for an officially recognized racing league and eventually found what they had been looking for: the Interstellar Anti-Gravity League. Remaining hidden, barely noticed spectators, they gathered as much information as they could, without having to contact the league directly.

Their first AG-racecraft to have been developed was an absolute beast: incredibly agile despite its immense size and equipped with completely impenetrable Psi-Shielding and bare-bones weaponry, just to comply with the IAGL's rules. Their craft was built almost exclusively from plant-matter, wood, while featuring an obsidian-skeleton and using psionicly-sensitive crystals in exchange for electrical circuitry. With the intention of raising awareness to the preservation and protection of all types of non-sapient life-forms, the Cybianians intended to use all the wealth gathered from races to further their goals.

During the first qualification races, however, their craft seemed to have very specific issues: being the largest craft to ever have seen the circuit, proved to be quite the disturbance on the track, forming a completely immovable wall which other pilots could not get past if it got stuck or slowed down by weapon-fire. The latter in particular irritated the Cybianian pilots and the occasional narrow and technical tracks proved to be too much for their craft to handle. Seeing the constant pressure on both sides, after the league to took notice of their usage of impenetrable shielding and the excessive size of their craft, the Cybianians left the IAGL and vanished beyond the stars again, without any promise of return.

After a couple of years, however, without any warning, the Cybianians returned, asking permission to participate in the IAGL once again. Having temporarily partnered themselves with the well-known Thunderbird team, they had taken their opportunities to refine their craft more thoroughly. Their new craft, now officially named the "Wing of Cybia" (like the racing team itself), while similar on the surface, proved to be a completely different beast to its previous itteration during pre-season testing: Gone was the impenetrable Psi-Shield, replaced with a weaker, but still sturdy version. Most of the now exposed energycore's power had been channeled into the main turbines instead, giving it very high top-speed and good acceleration to boot. The massive psionic blades on the sides had been reformed and moved closer to the central hull, decreasing the ships width significantly. The energy channeled into the blades provided the ship with great grip on the track, while also allowing the craft to float in the air for a surprisingly large amount of time, if given the proper jump before-hand. The only flaws of the ship were its slow handling, which required highly precise driving skills and its unchanged, basic weaponry. Still being among the largest crafts to ever participate in the IAGL, the Cybianians stated that this new version of their craft was closer to to their original dreams and climbing up the ranks at similar speeds to their craft, they had proven to be strong contenders in the following events.

However, this changed when a hostile faction of the Cybianians, the Crimson Leaves, caught wind of their racing-career and entered the IAGL with a stolen and modified version of their ship. Suddenly being forced to compete with another version of itself, the Wing of Cybia team suddenly found themselves facing quite a bit of scruteny, as the Crimson Leaves were causing severe trouble both on and off the track, putting the usually under-utilized, weak weaponry to great use. Nevertheless, the Cybianians are determined more than ever to keep their peaceful reputation intact and to make sure that they would stay ahead of the competition, especially the Crimson Leaves, once again.

Huge thanks to Blu' and KyraTech for helping me with problems in Blender, KyraTech again for being a generous source of motivation and ChaCheChoo for putting up with my spamming of stat-changes during the testing and balancing phase. Without their help, I would've never completed this project.

@Spark7979 The cockpit is at the very front. One thing you have to consider is that their legs and neck make up a bulk of their total height, so when they sit/lay down, their legs fold up at their body, like a bird in flight, so that pretty much removes them from the effective height (or in this case length). The cockpit is also built in a way that the blade that covers the front from flying debris, is also placed in such a way to perfectly cover the only blind spot in their vision (more about that in the Spore fandom page).

where do they sit in the craft if they're five metres tall?
