CDC Rapid Response 2 Air Traffic

Description
B41 (SP and MP) and B42

CDC Rapid Response II RECOMMENDED, but NOT REQUIRED.

THIS MOD IS COMPATIBLE WITH ALL MODS, AND CAN BE ADDED AND REMOVED AS NEEDED!

An overhauled air space system to replace the old helicopter mechanic - simulating the CDC response.

This mod simulates helicopters, airplanes and helicopters with loudspeakers on them.

It is meant to replace the existing helicopter mechanic, so it is recommended to turn that off.

  • Aircraft irritate zombies.
  • Aircraft cause zombies to move around the map.
  • Aircraft do not chase the player.
  • Creates a dynamic experience as Zombie population becomes much more mobile.
  • Sandbox settings for specific aircraft end dates and frequency.
  • All aircraft activity declines over time.
  • Zombies do not notice all sounds.
  • Lots of sandbox settings!

  • SANDBOX SETTINGS
  • OverallChance - Overall chance for aircraft, this is the roll range, higher means larger range and less of a chance.
  • RotaryWingAircraftChance - How often do helicopters fly? The chance out of 1000.
  • FixedWingAircraftChance - If a helicopter did not fly, the chance that an airplane will. Out of 1000.
  • LoudSpeakerChance - If no other flights, the chance that a helicopter with a loudspeaker will. Out of 1000.
  • NoticeSoundChance - Chance out of 10 that zombies will collectively notice a sound. (Close population shifts)
  • NoticeEchoChance - Chance out of 10 that zombies will collectively notice an echo. (Far away population shifts)
  • Aircraft End Month/Year - These will allow adjustments for when aircraft of specific types should end.
  • Airspace Silence Month/Year - When all aircraft stop. Controls the rate and which aircraft activity reduces.
  • MonthRandomizerRange - For specific aircraft, a possible random adjustment to stop month.
  • TickLength - How often to check for aircraft - 1=Every10Min, 2=EveryHour(default), 3=EveryDay
  • MoreActivitySummer1993 - If in July then activity is increased by rolling a range of 750 instead of 1000.

CDC Rapid Response II is highly recommended for the full immersive experience, but it is not required!

Great mod, thanks heaps! I was missing the Expanded Helicopter Events mod from build 41 and this mod fills that void.

I'm getting no errors at all, mod is working fine for me.

I have infinite looping errors and logs with this mod, follow this:

The error and logs tagged with CDCRRAT_CONSOLE are caused by a mod called "CDDA - Cataclysm Dark Days Ahead" or one of its expansions adapted for Project Zomboid. The name CDCRRAT appears to be an abbreviation related to the radio or aircraft event system adapted within the mod.

Based on the logs:

Edit
LOG: Lua f:307716> CDCRRAT_CONSOLE: Rotary-wing aircraft can fly today.
LOG: Lua f:307716> CDCRRAT_CONSOLE: Playing loud speaker aircraft announcement.
LOG: Lua f:307716> CDCRRAT_CONSOLE: Zeds did not notice the echo...

Those weird sounds that the helicopters sometimes make are terrifying, I don't exactly know what they are but they really add to the horror experience and immersion. Great mod! :steamhappy:

i have been playing with it with week 1 and honestly it isn't bad, the frantic helicopters and airplanes over top sound a lot more like military surveillance than an out-of-place noise.

Same question

I'm not sure if I missed this bit of info, but how well does this mod work with Week One and Day One? Do I need to mess with the settings to delay the events, enable the mod after the outbreak starts, or do they not work together?
