Ancient Hooman Site (Build-A-Map 4)

Description
What is this place? Why did the Hoomans make this? There's so much badwater sent here, what did they do with it all? Whatever it was, none of it works anymore.
Well, our most daring explorers have found a spot with fresh water. It'll be hard, but maybe we can clear all of this mess.

I wanted to try a few things with this map. While I wasn't able to do everything I wanted, I always liked the idea of trying to survive over a badwater sea. With only one source of water at the start, and little land, you'll need to optimize what you can use.
Here's the mod.io link for a better description and more preview images. Steam wants them to be 2 mb, and I can't be bothered.

-The Highland

Here's your start. Small sections of land, split apart by badwater. Yet, it has the easiest to access frashwater.

-The Holes

THis location, dubbed by our adventurers, as The Holes, has two hooman pits of ruins. What had they built there, it must have needed lots of water.
This place is hard to build on, and has no true flatlands. Yet, this is the only place with renewable metal.

-Flats

It should be obvious why we call it 'Flats'. Whatever the hoomans were doing here, it included trees.
It's perfect for your farming endeavors, yet it is far and water sources can be hard to reach. Yet, it can potentially feed all beavers that live here.

-Strange Structure

The ruins of an old, hooman structure. it looks like badwater used to flow here. Our historians have read the old, hooman language left over. "T. R. E. T. M. T. P. L. A."

(Honestly more of a set piece, but another easy source of finite metal.)

Good luck, have fun. I wanted a map that had a hard start, one you had to work to win over. Once you get a set-up, you really should be set!

".....It's small, but it's a start. We finally have a foothold here, I think we can make it. We can change this place for the better..."
