Merry Christmas, Everyone!

Short Description
A simple script that will allow special infected to drop Christmas gifts upon death, it will give items upon being used.

Features and Notes:
  • Killing a special infected (a survivor must kill it) will have a chance to drop a gift.
  • The chance of the dropped gifts is 30%.
  • Once a gift has dropped, it will not drop another one until 16 seconds has passed, unopened gifts will despawn after 30 seconds.
  • The gifts can come up with different color, the drop mechanic remains unchanged, it is purely cosmetic.
  • Upon being opened with +use (default key is e), you can get either throwables, medkit, defib, upgrade packs, and temporary health items, the chance of getting either one of the items are the same.
  • Default gifts dropped in versus mode remain the same, it will drop the gift for the Valve Gift Grab 2011 - L4D2 achievement as usual, and another gift from this script.
  • Include configurable settings, see the pinned discussion for more information.
  • Only works on local/dedicated servers.

  • This script is incompatible with VScript Autoloader, it shouldn't given the description but I am guessing it's just outdated.

I want to prepare something bigger for Christmas, but I am fairly busy atm.

I also like this because you can pace yourself without running out of items like alien loot drop in alien swarm reactive drop.

Could you add a drop loot table style to modify what items and percentage to drop? for example I am currently using unlimited ammo upgrade mod and I do not what it to drop since it is reusable.

Great script! Could you please tell me how to add more items to the gift drops? For example, some rare weapons or even special infected—something that would make it more surprising.:steamthumbsup:

Ah I founded the issue mate, I sub to the auto V-script loader Mod, so it make the gift box empty, I unsub from it and it work perfectly now, I rec you should put a disclaimer in the description for other people to notice, thanks for reply mate.

I am afraid I need more context, I can't replicate the issue :(
If you have other vscript add-ons, I recommend try disabling every single one except for this to see if it worked.

Hi I got a little problem is that when it interact with the box it doesn't drop anything, this work fine before but now it don't, and the script isn't conflicted with anything, can you identify this error?
