Butterfly Effect

Description
PLEASE READ!

This is NOT my puzzle! It is a remastered version of Butterfly by Mikeastro, which in turn is also an expanded/advanced version of Moth by Atom. The original Butterfly unfortunately suffered from a logic break, and after I had an idea on how to elegantly fix it, Mike gave me his original Butterfly file with permission to upload this overhaul of the map. It features:
- a (hopefully) non exploitable solution (looking at you, Nobody No-One)
- connection/visibility improvements
- an aesthetic overhaul
---
Note: This puzzle uses the inline rule. The half voxel ceiling surface will only accept portal shots if you're standing in line with it.
---
Special thanks to Teo and Didokiller for playtesting and making sure the map isn't broken yet again ;p
The music for this map was also composed by Mike himself!

Difficulty: Medium-Hard

nice job on the solve! this is indeed also one of my favorite puzzles that Mike has made

@SpKi Thank you for the answer. It was amazing! I had to think about it for a really long time. The idea of solving the same space multiple times in different ways with such a relatively simple structure is truly brilliant. One of my favorite maps. Thumbs up!

@mabelpines yes, it is. this puzzle uses the inline rule, meaning that you have to stand in line with half voxel surfaces on the floor/ceiling to place a portal on them. i should add that to the description actually because i forgot to do that this time, so thanks for notifying

Is it intended that i can't place portal on the ceiling threw the hole?

Very fun and subtle map. I like the part where the butterfly flapped it's wings and became a tornado or something.

map has been updated

hey, thanks for playing. your solution is intended except for the portal magnet abuse obviously. i'll switch it to a narrow surface, thanks for notifying

about the "missing" grating, that hole is there intentionally to prevent a niche trapping situation. it HAS to be built like this

My decision [www.nicovideo.jp]
In the initial stage, in which you need to swap the cubes, I took a significant shortcut.
Conclusion: ALL portal panels should be narrow.

But then, I was moving the cargo cube with a gravity beam for nothing. I could have just carried him through the portal. Damn, well, I'm too lazy to overwrite it.

You also don't have grate under a laser :p

Excellent puzzle,at first, I worried the cube wouldn't make it into the funnel in time from the rail platform—turns out just tweaking its position did the trick! After that, everything went buttery smooth! I'll definitely try mike's version when I have time.

Thanks for playing. There's no angled lasers through portals, though, and it's generally been agreed upon that those are never intended in maps from the puzzle community, so I'm not sure if I'll bother with it
