Gate Karma Randomizer

Description
A mod that randomises the karma requirements for all gates in Rain World.

I hope players enjoy this twist! (thumbs up/favourite if you do :D)

Features (all configurable)
  • Per campaign randomisation, where the gates get randomised once and remain the same for that specific campaign.
  • Custom seeds, so that you can share any seeds with others to achieve the same randomised gates.
  • Dynamic randomisation, this makes gate karma random every time a region is loaded or a game has been continued again.
  • Region Kit + Karma Expansion, You must first set the max karma cap in the remix setting!
  • Rain Meadow support

Ideas for future features
  • Custom RNG algorithm that can help if a campaign needs higher than 5 karma to get out of the first region

Currently Tested With
  • Monk with and without MSC enabled
  • Very little testing with survivor
  • MSC, Warp Menu, Remix, Expedition, Music Announcements, Lizard Mlem, DMS, RegionKit, Karma Expansion all enabled

Some Issues
IF YOU ARE PLAYING RAIN MEADOW AND TRYING TO ENTER METROPOLIS/OTHER CODED REGIONS, YOU HAVE TO ENTER GATE, WAIT FOR FLASHING, EXIT GATE ROOM AND REENTER GATE, IDK WHY ITS LIKE THAT HOPEFULLY NEXT RAIN MEADOW UPDATE FIXES IT

Not sure if this is only a monk/survivor only thing because of expedition mode, but since the metropolis/bitter aerie/outer expanse gate is changed, it allows for scugs to get inside (this has only been tested on Monk, but after reading up on the wiki, it seems that it should only work on monk/survivor)

After 30 minutes of restarting the game, I finally found the stumbling block that kept me from playing today. And it turned out to be this mod.

This mod causes game freeze.

"NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object
at GateKarmaRandomizer.Hooks.MapData_KarmaOfGate..." maybe this is the reason why?

@Melons I don't have the slightest bit of experience with GitHub, but I tried to propose changes. My apologies for going overboard with them... I haven't tested my changes, but 90% of them were directly copied from my Region Randomizer mod (which I ought to now make open source...).

Sure! that would be great to look at. About the extended karma, I would need to learn about how to check if a mod is enabled but otherwise it should be possible! (also not sure if you get pinged or anything, kinda surprised that steam doesn't have reply buttons here)

Hey, I can send you my code for changing the map symbols if you want that. I'll make a GitHub account and suggest it somewhere in your repository.

Could this mod have support for up to 10 karma (if RegionKit is enabled) or even up to 22 karma if the Karma Expansion mod is enabled?
