1177 AD: Saladin's Domain

This is one of the factions of my 1177 AD Crusades Campaign.

The Ayyubid Sultanate was the founding dynasty of the medieval Sultanate of Egypt established by Saladin in 1171, following his abolition of the Fatimid Caliphate of Egypt.

Salah ad-Din Yusuf Ibn Ayyub (known as Saladin by the Crusaders) was born into a family of Kurdish mercenaries at the service of the Zengid Atabegs of Syria. In 1175 AD, he rose to power over Egypt and Syria, and in 1177 AD, he marched towards Jerusalem.

The Ayyubid Sultanate is the main faction, along with the Kingdom of Jerusalem, of the 1177 AD Crusader Campaign. You will have a ample forces and several fronts through which to invade the Crusader domain, and begin your conquest of the Holy Land
