Introducing Day Number 9, the ’Selero’ - Roaming Station

- Lore -

Warrick stared out the observation window, his hands gripping the cool metal railing as he watched the Orion slowly pull away from the station after having just finished delivered more fuel. The quiet hum of the space station around him did little to calm his racing thoughts.

How much longer can we keep up with the rising fuel costs? he thought, the numbers flashing in his mind like an endless stream.

Selero Fuel had been promising new technology, a breakthrough in fuel efficiency, but Warrick couldn’t shake the worry gnawing at him. With every shipment, the price seemed to climb, and the station's reserves were getting tighter.

Then there was the upcoming upgrade. The jump drive they were installing next month.

Great, more debt, he mused bitterly. The station was already operating at a deficit, and now the company was adding an expensive piece of tech that no one fully understood.

How long before the costs of operating the jump drive outstrip what we make on fuel sales?

Warrick sighed, the weight of the uncertainty pressing down on him. He loved the work, loved the quiet routine of his shift, but the constant pressure of the numbers felt suffocating. With the station’s upgrade, everything would change, and not necessarily for the better. He glanced over at the control panels, imagining how long it would take before the jump drive either became the salvation or the ruin of them all.

Well, it’s too late to turn back now, he thought. But as his shift ended and he began to head toward the crew quarters, one question lingered: How far would they go before it all fell apart?

Gotta say, I love this build. As a solo player, I find myself looking for the small waystations to use, as most of the builds in the workshop tend towards the gigantic in size. Nicely done.

Lovely builds - this year's trend of exposed H2 tanks is giving me the anxiety though! :D
