Description


Adds a new xenotype, the hivers - a race from the game Kenshi by Lowfi Studios.

A much, MUCH requested Biotech revamp of the legacy Rim-Hivers mod that required HAR.


Adds the hivers as a xenotype. They spawn in their own factions, each type, civil and savage being found in their respective factions. Outside of the hive, they have a small chance of spawning in outlander and tribal factions. They also carry over their custom names and backstories from the legacy mod.

This mod also carries over all the small details from the OG mod, with a few new ones. Hivers get a mood boost from eating raw fish if VE fishing is enabled, drones have restrictions on what kind of headgear they can wear, custom caravan kinds, comms console greetings, and the titular hiver queen xenotype, which is capable of laying hiver larva which can hatch into one of the three castes.

Hivers also have a custom culture, with weapons being modeled after Kenshi's, custom ritual visuals, and a song from the game itself - As It Is (Disclaimer: I do not own this song, it was created and owned by Lo-Fi Games.)

Since soldier drones are heavily restricted in what they can wear, they have natural armor on their heads, and a custom plate helmet that can be crafted or bought from hive caravans.


Q - "What's the difference between the two mods?"
A - This one uses the xenotype system added by Biotech, the old one uses HAR. Not much else besides new graphics.

Q - "Which one's better?"
A - It depends on your personal preference, however the HAR version will not be updated going forwards, and any future features will be dedicated to this mod.

Q - "Any future plans?"
A - An ideo style for hivers to give their gear that iconic Kenshi / Hiver Expansion aesthetic.

Q - "Why can't my hiver drones wear certain headgear?"
A - Hiver drones have dumb stupid goofy looking heads, they physically can't. Go make some drone helmets for them.

Q - "Fogmen + Praetorian hivers when???"
A - Maybe if I feel like it, Mercury is in retrograde, and you're NOT on Santa's naughty list...

Interaction vs. Vanilla Fishing Expanded + XML Extensions

If we throw XML Extensions into the mix, we get the error in my previous post plus this new one:

hi Vex, the egg not hatching bug still exist, i have an egg at 133% and not hatched; this happened after i updated the mod

@Fishkeeper01 you can disable their xenotype in facial anims mod settings. And if you're removing the mod, destroy all their settlements and you should be good.
