Fractured Online #1: Character Creation

We'll read through all the information during character creation without having to launch the game. Comments here and there for my personal opinions.

Demons
1. Blood Demons (Vampires)
(CHA here is actually WIS, more on the attributes later.)
  • Has 5% innate life steal, has a bar that passively fills up by this innate lifesteal for +phy&mag power
  • Once the bar is 50% you can activate it for more life steal whick generally spikes the bar to 100% pretty fast.

2. Hellfire Demons (Hellfire Demons)
  • Damage you deal or receive fills the Battle Trance bar, the bar gives you status resist (chilled, burning, crippled, bleeding etc.).
  • Once 50% is filled you can activate it for more status resist and you become immune to burning, you also start burning enemies around you for the duration.
Humans
Humans are just the best period.
Wildfolk
Primal Energy
Before talking about the Wildfolk subraces you must know about Primal Energy.
Primal energy is a unique mechanic to wildfolk races. It's a bar similar to those of demons and wildfolk can fill it up by harvesting Primal Energy nodes or consuming certain items.

1. Blessed Humans (Iridra)
  • Can store primal energy manually by harvesting it or consuming Primal Energy items.
  • Activate for 40% Power boost (Phy, Mag and Spirit), +100 hp/mp regen for 10 seconds. Uses 20% of the primal energy bar.

2. Tiger-Kin (Chadra)
  • Primal energy bar passively increases Phy Power and Crit Chance.
  • Can overcharge to prevent losing primal energy.
  • Can transform into a weretiger by spending primal energy to double the Power and Crit Chance bonus for up to 200 seconds in PvE (30 in PvP)
(Primal form uses claws instead of your equipped weapon)

3. Hart-Kin (Erwydra)
    (CHA here is actually WIS, more on the attributes later.)
  • Primal energy bar passively increases Mag Power and Cooldown Reduction.
  • Can overcharge to prevent losing primal energy.
  • Can transform into a werehart (stag?) by spending primal energy to double the Power and Cooldown bonus for up to 200 seconds in PvE (30 in PvP)
(Primal form uses claws instead of your equipped weapon)
Backgrounds
Your chosen background determines which 4 abilties you start with. No matter which one you pick you can learn all the other abilities as you play the game.

Gladiator

Gladiator starts with a bleeding ability and another one that provides life steal against bleeding enemies.
Has a leadership ability that provides accuracy and some defensive stats to party members and a battle jump for mobility.

Ranger

Bear companion is an ability you can get by completing the tutorial.
Others are Doubleshot and Volley, regular archer stuff and a snaring trap ability.

Street Rat

Is a rogue/assassin, you can go invisible and Shadow Step behind your enemies. Other two are a battle stance that increases your damage dealt to the lower health enemies and an ultimate Coup De Grace ability to finish the wounded ones off.

Druid

Only one that starts with spiritual power abilities. Starts with a tanky summon ability, a heal ability, rooting thorns for some CC and Regrowth that provides life regeneration to allies.
Druidcraft in general is not the healer path but it is the closest background to being one. There is a restoration spell school for that later.

Pyromancer

"Kill it with fire" kinda guy and has a mobility ability.

Battlemage

Similar to Pyromancer for the early game. Has more AoE and starts with Mage Armor.
Lightning Rush is a mobility ability that lets you dash in a straightline.
Attributes
  • STR - Primary reason to get STR is the +PHY power. This will not only affect damage of abilities but also increase the duration or intensity of stuff like CC abilities. Secondary reason would be the carry weight that comes into play sometimes. You can have a house and chests to store stuff so it's a QoL but you can work around it. Health regen alone shouldn't be the reason to get STR.

  • DEX - Primary reason to get DEX would be the cooldown reduction that can help any build and the armor pen is a good to have for the PHY builds. The evasion is helpful but not a big deal here unless you specifically want to build around it.

  • INT - This one is easy. +MAG power will increase the effectiveness of all kinds of magical abilities except healing. Mana and mana regen is a big boost too.

  • CON - This is a tank attribute. If you are not going to be a tank don't go crazy here. Still some Fortitude will let you resist physical CCs and status ike bleeding or crippled.

  • PER - Crit chance/damage and accuracy to beat your enemies' evasion. Best not to have this too low unless you are going to be a pure healer. Accuracy affects duration of your CCs as well.

  • WIS - The main stat of Healers or Summoners. Good for mage dps as a secondary stat for the magic penetration. Willpower will let you resist magical CCs and status like chill or burning.
