Freight Car Pack for Metrostroi

This addon contains various models of freight cars for use with Garry's Mod Metrostroi. They can be spawned using a custom interface in the train spawner, which allows you to select any model of freight car using checkboxes. There are 13 types to choose from!

Select skins and bodygroups by right-clicking on each car. When selecting skins from spawner (currently works for extra hopper skins and intermodal containers), you will need to either respawn the whole train or left click/right click on an ACF 4600 covered hopper car (BN paint scheme by default) to change skins on the train, otherwise it will not work. I do not know what causes this, any attempts to resolve this bug haven't worked. If anyone knows how to fix this, please comment! I will be working on a fix, but this may take a while.

Freight Car Types

Autorack car - Roughly 75 feet long. Has enclosed bilevel, semi-open bilevel, and trilevel variants. WARNING! It will not fit in Metrostroi tunnels! This car is quite long, be careful around curves to avoid derailments.

Boxcar - Waffle side boxcar, 50 feet long, NOTICE: It does not fit in Metrostroi tunnels!

"Bathtub" Coal Car - Roughly 45 feet long, used to transport coal. Low clearance car, fits in tunnels without any issues.

CP Rail Gondola Car - CN/CP Rail gondola car, 52 feet long, Very low clearance car.

Thrall Gondola Car - Gondola car, 52 feet long, Very low clearance car.

Container Flatcar - Flat car with 4 short containers onboard. 89 feet long. NOTICE: This car is very long. Risk of derailment in tight curves. This car has skins!

Empty Flatcar - The exact same flatcar but with no load, can be used to carry any large load, including vehicles. Make sure to secure the load with ropes or the Weld constraint! 89 feet long. NOTICE: This car is very long. Risk of derailment in tight curves.

Old Flatcar - Older model of flatcar derived from the trilevel autorack model. 85 feet long. NOTICE: This car is very long. Risk of derailment in tight curves.

Grain Hopper Car- Cylindrical grain hopper with a platform on top. Tested to fit in Metrostroi tunnels, be careful in low clearance areas to avoid getting stuck!

Hopper Car - ACF covered hopper, very common on most railroads. NOTICE: It might not fit in narrower Metrostroi tunnels. This car has skins!

Potash Hopper Car- Cylindrical potash hopper with a platform on top. tested to fit in Metrostroi tunnels, does not fit in enclosed yards. Park these cars outdoors!

You can now use ANY model of subway car from the base Metrostroi addon, as well as my "81-710 (BiLevel cab car custom)" from my Canadian/US Locomotive Bell and Horn addon as a sort of locomotive to pull these cars. You will need roughly 1 Ezh3 for every 6 freight cars, give or take, the tractive power of other trains varies.
The freight car's pass-through wiring system allows for distributed power units (DPU) in the form of other motorized subway cars to be placed in the middle of a train, which boosts traction and reduces the risk of a derailment. Select the electrical contact (EKK) type in the spawner for this to work with whatever model of train you need. Available options are as follows, select these based on what subway cars will be used to pull the freight cars:

81-702 (D) - For D type trains
81-703 (E*) - For E, Ezh, Ema502, and Em508 type trains. I have not tested with Ema502 or Em508 trains, let me know if there are any issues.
81-710 (Ezh3) - For Ezh3 trains, including the custom Canadian variant from the required addon, as well as those from Eastern Europe Pult Pack such as the Ecs and Ev3. This is the default option.
81-717/714 - For ALL variants of the 81-717 subway train, not tested with Saint-Petersburg models.
81-718 - For 81-718 "TISU" type trains
81-720 - For Yauza typre trains
81-722 - For Yubileyniy type trains

If you experience any bugs with the system, make sure to DISCONNECT the EKK by pressing E on the coupler between the subway train and freight cars. This will also disable control over any distributed power units in the train, causing them to act as dead weight.

If most maps have tunnels, where can I use these freight cars?

Both types of gondola cars, as well as the coal cars, can fit in standard Metrostroi tunnels without a problem. Various hoppers can fit, but it highly depends on the map. As for autoracks, boxcars, and intermodal flatcars, they should not be used in tunnels due to their increased height and/or length.

Recommended maps
You should try these freight cars on any outdoor map, such as gm_metro_demixovo_2, gm_metro_elektrichkostroi, gm_metro_lichterfelde and/or gm_metro_sunnytown_v2 (don't use autoracks, boxcars, or flatcars here, though), or any GMod Trainbuild map, such as gm_sunsetgulch.

Whenever I make a map, it will be most likely be an outdoor map compatible with these freight cars!

Future updates will include:
- Fixing the bug that prevents train spawner updates of anything that is not a hopper car
- Adding tanker cars
- Adding flatcar variants such as centerbeams, bulkhead cars, intermodal well cars, depressed-centre flatcars, coil cars, CWR cars, and auto frame cars.
- Optimizations and reducing lag on long trains

I plan to add more car types such as basic flatcars, centerbeam cars, bulkhead flatcars, intermodal well cars (for double stack intermodal freight), tank cars and open hoppers. Currently I cannot find a good model for any of the cars yet (the basic flatcars will be edits of the existing intermodal flatcar model, so no issue with those) and should be ready soon. Before that, I plan to update the addon with additional skins for common intermodal containers, grain hoppers, and boxcars since there isn't enough variety of those.

Thanks! I am currently scripting an EMD F40PH diesel locomotive for Metrostroi, I plan to make a couple north smerican passenger and freight locos, probably some eastern block ones too (like the M61 nohab, M62, TE10, VL80, and such)

no way immersion railroding. witaing for loco and it would be the most realistic train sim in gmod
