The Gorre & Daphetid Railroad

Description
Background

The Gorre & Daphetid was a groundbreaking model railroad built by John Allen, and is arguably the most influential model railroad ever built. John first started building the layout in the late 1940s, and continued expanding it all the way up until his death in 1973. The layout pioneered many techniques now considered essential in modern model railroads, and featured incredible floor to ceiling scenery, with trains making their way a whole nine feet off the ground. Shortly after John's death the layout was unfortunately destroyed in a house fire, with very few artifacts surviving; which is a large part of the reason we decided to recreate it in Rolling Line!

We here at the Beer Line Team first started on this project three whole years ago, by far the longest turnaround we've ever had on a project. We have painstakingly recreated the entirety of the original layout, as well as adding full skybox support, multiple detailed areas that were out of sight on the real layout, and finishing several unfinished areas that were never completed before the layout was destroyed. In addition we've made over 24 individual mods and liveries for this project, replicating a good portion of the G&D roster.

We could not be more excited to finally share this layout with the world, so please enjoy this layout and experience the G&D for the first time since 1973!

TO ANYONE REPORTING MISSING PROPS/MODS
If you make a separate save of the layout without subscribing to the actual props and mods used in the layout, the mods WILL NOT LOAD on your personal save. This is NOT a bug with the layout, it's just the way Rolling Line handles mod packaging. Because the mods are only packaged with the actual save from the workshop they will always load fine on that one, but because you created a separate save those mods are not linked to it. The easiest way to solve this is just to subscribe to the two collections of props and mods for the G&D project, linked below.

That sounds more like a bug with your game itself rather than something with the mod or the layout. If you go to the discussion boards there's a place you can report it to Gauge.

I don't understand why, but when I try shunting with an 0-6-0, it goes on one track and its tender goes another way. Moreover, when I try uncoupling, it doesn't always work. I think this engine has a bug whereas its tender doesn't.

I think a great map idea (especially for the people who like narrow gauge) would be the Glenwood & Black Creek layout. It's a really great narrow gauge model railroad with lots of operations and scenery. It's very large, though, so you might need to do some compression.
