Description

Idea suggested by StephanWeaverOfWorlds.

Pups will feed off the player like jungle leeches when grabbed (but not when on the player's back). By default this only happens when the player presses down and jump.

Most recent update:
-added option to only allow pups to steal extra food pips (off by default)
-added option to require the player giving permission for pups to steal food (on by default)
-added cool down so pups don't steal all the food at once
-changed so that a pup will gain positive reputation towards you after feeding

ye ye, that plays into it too! instead of pearls and rocks and the like going all the way to the stomach, they get put in the crop instead? probs a bit less stressful than coughing things up from the stomach, and less likely to lose much food either, asda.

It's a fun theory! It sounds very plausible. We know they can store non-food things, so why not food too?

righto and no pressure on things! I was also just compelled to share my headcanon on how slugcat foodpips worked lol. (it also explains why pups have just one extra pip- too small to carry much more than a morsel extra)

@SteffanWeaverOfWorlds, I like the idea! I think it makes a lot of sense. I don't plan to add anything new to this mod for the time being, but if that changes then I will keep this in mind.

had a thought about. what if you could take your pups extra food pip? essentially, pups are all fed, but you ain't fed. completely on empty. Or are at least below the threshhold to safely hibernate.

Sooo. reverse leech pups mods. Activates only if you're below the threshhold of safe hibernation, and the pup is on full. they only lose that one extra pip, you all get to hibernate, so on.

This operates under the headcanon that Slugcats have a "crop". basically a. throat pouch-ish kindof thing that holds extra food outside the stomach? Meaning the way this works would be a pup (or like in the original mod, the parent) spitting up a portion of whatevers in their crop for the other slugcat.

and in the case of, waking up the next cycle, whatever is in the crop will be swallowed immediately.
