Description
The Magpie Class Mk II by EuroSpace Industries improves upon the series of beloved small to medium mining ships. While still able to hold their own in low hazard combat, their mining and salvaging suite has received a modernization package. Most of them feature a modularly expandable cargo system which makes them excellent career-start ships on any budget difficulty. They work great in tandem with other EuroSpace starter ships (like the ES Raven Class Mk II -> https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3364802268 )

#1 SMALL MINERS:

ES Magpie Mk II-A0:
The A0-variant is the cheapest of its class, with all non-essential features stripped to allow access even on "Shipwright" budget difficulty.
Speed - ~66m/s, Crew - 8, Cost - ~59.900,-

ES Magpie Mk II-A1:
The A1 serves as a starter ship for more wealthy aspiring miners than those entering on the highest budget difficulty. It features a slightly larger container as well as some extra thrust over the A0.
Speed - ~80m/s, Crew - 8, Cost - ~65.000,-

ES Magpie Mk II-A2:
The A2-variant has a completed mining-&-salvaging suite, including a second Mining Laser and a Manipulator Beam. To haul modularly expandable cargo system the class is known for, the ship's thrust capabilities have also been upgraded from the A1.
Speed - ~77m/s, Crew - 12, Cost - ~96.700,-

ES Magpie Mk II-A3:
The A3 departs from its role as a pure miner, carrying a Disruptor in place of the second Mining Laser to help it defeat shielded enemies.
Speed - ~78m/s, Crew - 12, Cost - ~94.400,-

ES Magpie Mk II-A4:
The A4 is the standard version of the Magpie Class' small miners, completing the list of features with a Hyperdrive. It relies on Large Thrusters to haul its 3 large containers.
Speed - ~78m/s, Crew - 12, Cost - ~120.000,-

ES Magpie Mk II-A5:
The Magpie Mk II-A5 features the largest standard container system of the class which comes with a thruster-node. While more containers can be added, it will diminish the small Miner's speed, making a switch to the light variants necessary at some point.
Speed - ~58m/s, Crew - 14, Cost - ~146.500,-

#2 LIGHT MINERS:

ES Magpie Mk II-B1:
The Magpie Mk II-B1 is the larger light version of the A5. While the total cargo space stays the same, it features 2 Huge thrusters to maintain hauling speeds and adds a third Mining Laser. These additions also made a reactor upgrade necessary.
Speed - ~85m/s, Crew - 14, Cost - 190.800,-

ES Magpie Mk II-B2:
The B2 variant doubles the B1's cargo space, making a thruster-hyperdrive-node necessary.
Speed - ~76m/s, Crew - 16, Cost - ~243.900,-

ES Magpie Mk II-B3:
With 24 containers and 2 thruster-hyperdrive-nodes the Magpie Mk II-B3 is the largest variant of the class. While more containers can be added beyond that, the limits of the cockpit systems do not permit more thrust.
Speed - ~62m/s, Crew - 18, Cost - 294.900,-

Hm. I checked the roles since the last complaint and couldn't find anything off. Maybe something on the workshop got corrupted.

also having a different crew issue, all of a sudden the operator roles both have supply energy as their first priority and then afterwards to actually operate things

Sorry, wasn't trying to imply that it's the designs fault. Obviously they were working at their jobs for a short bit and then stopped. I think it's some sort of bug in the game but I haven't been able to track down how to fix it or what is triggering.

That's really weird behaviour. I haven't checked it myself and ever since the Meltdown update came out + probably a bunch of hot fixes and balance changes in the near future, I'll probably have to remake and update each of these miners anyway. So till then, maybe try to fix it yourself by going through each of the crew roles and try to find what broke where.

So I'm having the 'people not doing their job' problem as well. It's not 'crews are tiny' and it's not 'we are busy doing something else' - the crew responsible are just wandering about in their room doing nothing. Fully crewed A5. The energy supply team refuse to stock the capacitor at the bottom leaving my bottom thrusters dry and the upper engineering crew happily stock the medium thrusters on either side but refuse to look at the huge thruster.

The thing is, they were working fine till I quit the game and reloaded. Tried deleting all the roles, assigning everyone to the default 'basic' role. Then deleting a part and re-importing the ship design to see if it'd 'fix' them and it does for a few minutes, then they go back to ignoring their jobs again.

@Maddog That's because the crews are tiny.

Since 0.28 I've had the issue. Basically power will stop getting delivered, even if all you're doing is moving between locations

You're probably talking about them occasionally leaving their seat at the Manipulator Beam to get replaced 1-2 seconds later with a different guy who might after a while leave again and get replaced? That happens because in my crew role system all of the roles are geared to help with every other possible job, if they have nothing to do, which can save on crew costs. It however also causes occasional hiccups in certain niche situations. Like the one where a ship doesn't have dedicated operators for Manipulator Beams, but relies on other crew types to do it without having to pay for additional 4 crew or their rooms. In this specific case I was willing to accept that trade off.

Cool ship but I had a problem on B2 and B3 where the crew would stop doing their jobs sometimes, couldnt figure out the issue
