Description
With greater contracts comes greater risk and need for versatility. That's where the Jemison Freight comes in, with its Mk2 VTOL nacelles capable of vectoring during landing procedures and a modular cargo hold - meaning you can dismantle the cargo containers in place and quickly install one full of cargo if necessary.

That's not the only new aspect of this ship, it also features a robust living quarters comparable to modern apartments - even complete with a toilet located in the cargo hold!

Yeah, I only use them on essential systems for builds - I hate using subgrids for anything other than the bare minimum (like vtol or custom weapons where applicable).

The curse of subgrids I suppose, I imagine that's why so many avoid them like the plague, appreciate your time, and look forward to the modernized results!

I'm already planning on making a fully survival-ready variant of this platform, which would naturally fix all those issues.

However, hinges can't reliably use merge blocks and have lots of issues of their own, overall SE just isn't compatible with this type of vehicle.

well, the good news is that the thrusters being locked in place fixed part of the problem. The bad news is that the rear door appears to be causing phantom issues galore, and I can't seem to fix them myself, is there a way to either replace/refit the back door to remove the rotor and replace it with hinges? (tried doing it myself, did NOT go well, and from what I researched, apparently hinges are far more stable and might allow merge blocks to be used, whereas rotors are unstable and disallow merge blocks, which would not only seal the area fully, but would also remove all phantom forces), only reason I'm asking for help over this is A, I'm awful with building lol, and B, I STILL love this ship and want to keep using it, but have now had phantom issues make this thing crash land on me 3-4 times now, and I'm hoping you have ideas for a fix that might help. sorry for the post being 10 pages

VTOL's really only for planetary movements, you can simply remove the rotors if you have phantom force issues.

The other stuff I can't fix, that's an SE issue not a blueprint issue.

not trying to bother you at all, but this one also had issues, using the timer blocks to change VTOL position (a feature I love the idea of for getting high fast) resulted in the VTOL thrusters breaking somehow, either being offline due to "no fuel" (reloading fixed this) or by somehow making the ship tilt/move to the point that flying it reliable is difficult, which sucks because a nice cozy ship to go between ground and space is exactly what I wanna use atm :D
