Description
The FFH-21 "Kikuri" is one of Ikuyo Aerospace's most reliable front-line combat ships, and the lightest and smallest ship of the line designed to be fully serviceable. Sporting 12x twin-barrel 155mm artillery turrets capable of superfiring, 5x PDCs and the same integrated hangar bay and repair system from the the FS-17, the Kikuri boasts unmatched firepower for her size class. In addition, a hybrid armored skirt, reinforced fuel tanks, triple redundant systems and a highly maneuverable hydrogen drive system, the FFH-21 can take and trade blows with the largest ships of an enemy fleet. While not formally a capital-killer, the twin 200mm spinal railguns have drawn more than their fair share of blood from simple pirates to the Factorum alike. The FFH-21, like all Ikuyo Aerospace vessels is also fully capable of operation in planetary environments.

Armament
  • 2x 200mm Spinal Railguns: 2km maximum firing range.
  • 12x 155mm Artillery Turrets: 2km maximum firing range.
  • 5x 25mm Point Defense Turrets: 800m maximum firing range.

Features
  • All Environments: Boasting a powerful hydrogen propulsion system, the FFH-21 is capable of landing on all planets and moons in gravity up to 1.5G. The patented over-unity refuelling system enables the ship to operate entirely off of water-ice as both fuel and power source. The 1250km rated Jump Drive allows it to keep pace with the rest of the fleet.
  • Simple and Maintainable: While not as economic as the lighter classes of gunboats, the FFH-21 is comparatively cheap to construct, and can be maintained indefinitely thanks to its easily accessible components and self-repair projector.
  • Highly Versatile: The FFH-21, while formally the smallest ship to be found in a carrier strike group, is capable of a variety of independent operations using the small hangar and production facilities of its own. Capable of carrying 2x UV-119s, F-121s or any combination of small Ikuyo Aerospace Vehicles (as well as printing them on the fly), the FFH-21 is capable of supporting and conducting a wide variety of military or civilian operations.
  • Survival Ready: Fully plumbed and survival ready. No subgrids present. Designed foremost to be easily repairable and servicable.

Datasheet
  • PCU: 17,656
  • Block Count: 1,900
  • Non-Armor Blocks: 881
  • Triangles: 4,407,172
  • Grid Mass: 2,034,914kg
  • Lifting Capacity: 36 Small Cargo Containers.

Scripts
Three scripts are included by default. Whip's Auto Door and Airlock, AutoLCDs 2 and Whip's SIMPL. All of these are optional and in no way effect the critical functions of the ship.

DLCs and Redistribution
This ship is vanilla but uses a large amount of DLC.

Notes
It's frigate time... As these ships get larger and larger they take me longer and longer to build and to finalize a hull shape i'm happy with. I think overall, this came out pretty good. It's not a huge performance upgrade over the FS-17 but it is a hell of a lot more survivable and I've been having a blast dueling the Factorum with this. I'm considering making a variant which swaps one of the hangar bays for VLS cells, but that'd be coming after I make the guided missile destroyer (next in line).

Special Credits
This design took tremendous inspiration from the CRN Railgun Corvette by Shiro___ as well as the PHX Triphibian by [Omega]. The engine room was based off the Great Guardian "Hanuman" by Benokt. Please go check them out!

Suggestions
I'm always open to suggestions or ideas so please let me know if you have any! This is designed to be a truly multi-role vehicle so as always, please feel free to post any modifications or remixes you make - no attribution required.

I've built it on a few servers but the design also draws really heavily from the designs listed in the description so that could be it.

Actually not too long I build my ships in a line like that so I can easily compare what I do and dont like across versions.

How long did it take to make that final screenshot?

I have a couple ideas kicking around for scripted and scriptless drones and missiles I might try.

took this for a test drive the other day and loved how it handled in creative. would be ideal for me if it only had a simple automatic drone printer in the hanger.

I'm playing on a server with a PCU limit. I selected your project, inserted this drawing into the projector, the nanites built it for me. Disconnected this ship from the projector and looked in the info the number of PCU. It came up over 60,000. But loading this ship in creative mode got 19556!!! I don't know how it works and why there is such a difference. Maybe because of the mod server, revised PCU.

I can guarantee you it's not 60k PCU lol. It's super difficult to get to that count in a ship of this size even if you're using subgrids. Try pasting it in creative via F10 and you should see the PCU and block count - you might be looking at the combined PCU of all grids you have out

built this ship unarmed and the meter reads almost 60000 PCU!!!! where did 17,656 come from?
