Why cows?
Because cows are great. Cows can be either white or brown.

Why should I get a cow then?
Because cows are great. Also, if you milk them, you get milk, which you can turn into cheese, which can be placed in a cask, and aged. Aged Cheese is one of the best foods in Stardew Valley, it boost both your health and energy immensely, plus it sells for a LOT of money!

= VERY GOOD!!!!

Plus their moo-ing noises are very nice.
What should I call my cow?
Whatever you like. You could give it a totally normal name, like Harry or Lucy, or you could give it a really ironic name, like Stew, or Mince. OR, you could give it a really AWESOME name, like Lantowhisperer, or Jerukle. I called mine Olga and Redondo.
So, how DO I milk my cow?
Well, first you'll need a Milk Pail from Marnie. It's possible to obtain multiple Milk Pails, and they're sold for

1000. Once you've got yourself one of those, simply walk up to your Cow, and.....click the right mouse button! Or whatever button you've assigned to be that "use item" button. Or, if you're playing with just your keyboard (not recommended overall), C. Once you've done that, congrats! You've acquired some Milk!

Depending on your relationship with your Cow, the quality, and even size can change. Pictured to the left is Large Milk, but Milk can also be Small, which looks more bottle-y.

Told you.

You can milk your Cow at any time, even when they're trying to sleep (which does make sense). Happy Cows produce Milk every day, and you can start to milk them as soon as they've grown up.
So what should I do with this Milk stuff?
I'd recommend shipping it. If you're going for Perfection, that is. Otherwise, just.....I dunno, why're asking me? I just explain how to milk cows! Whadda to with it? I dunno! Ship it! Ship a Small Milk, ship a Large Milk. Keep some for the Mines, turn some into Cheese if you have a Cellar, your choice! Do bear in mind though, you only get so many of those Small Milks before your Cow grows closer to you and starts producing better Milk, so be sure to ship at least one before you stop getting them!
To conclude this awesome Guide.
Cows. Awesome in their own right. Have you ever milked a real cow? I have. And now you will have milked a cow too. With the help of this very useful Guide. Wasn't it? Anyway, now you know all this useful info, quit reading this and go play Stardew Valley. Milk a Cow. Do cool stuff with the Milk. Yadda yadda yadda. Etc, etc, etc. Blah blah blah blah. Stuff and Nonsense.

1 in 500 dangerous enemies drop a special item, and 1 in 50 special items in the danger mines are auto petters, so 1 in every 25000 squids drops an auto petter

I will have to rethink my strategies, because I can not milk this guide

Ducks don't produce milk. Did you mean cows? If so, how many hearts do you have with them?

Also, how on earth did a squid give you an auto-petter?!
psychotron 1 Mar @ 6:18am
I got an auto-petter from a chest two days ago, and then I got another one from a squid yesterday.

Now I have four mickey mouse hands slapping my ducks, but they don't make large milk.

@psychotron you need to have enough hearts with it to get large milk. to get them pat it everyday to get relationship points with the cow. I don't know how many hearts you need, strangely enough the wiki doesnt say soz.
