Description
Tired of Constantly fixing your trunk to try and get some of that precious cargo space back? If so this mod is for you! Vehicle part performance degrades starting at roughly 70% and less on a scale. This means that at roughly 71% thats equal to vanilla 100%, and 0% is the same as vanilla 0% on a consistent scale (eg 50 is around 75 etc...)

This was primarily designed for Trunk and Truck bed storage capacity, and tire wear, but carries through to all vehicle parts with performance aspects.

Compatibility

"Should" be compatible with any other mod as this changes just two lines, and does not (at the moment) change any of the lua files.

Installation:

There are some manual installation steps required for this mod, instructions are as follows:
  • Subscribe to this mod
  • Wait for the download to finish
  • Using file explorer, navigate to: Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\108600\3349243150\mods\TksScaledVehicleDamage
  • Copy the zombie folder
  • paste that folder into: Steam\steamapps\common\ProjectZomboid
  • Allow the file to overwrite (should be just one file)
  • This mod does not need to be enabled, and will effect all games. (wont break saves)
  • Run project zomboid and enjoy!

Un-Installation:

To uninstall this mod there are a couple of ways.
  • If this is the only mod you have that modifies code, simply verify your files in steam, wait for that to finish and you are done!
  • If you are using another mod that replaces files manually:
  • Using file explorer, navigate to: Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\108600\3349243150\mods\TksScaledVehicleDamage\Vanilla
  • Copy the zombie folder
  • paste that folder into: Steam\steamapps\common\ProjectZomboid
  • Allow the file to overwrite (should be just one file)
  • That will restore the original vanilla file
  • Run project zomboid and enjoy!

Multiplayer:
  • For server games, the mod can be installed on both the client and the server, or just clients. (read furter for details)
  • if the server does not have the mod installed, the mod will only work for clients with the code installed, this is recommended, as it makes the server more accessible and this is not a major change or advantage.
  • If a client game crashes, that means the server has the correct code installed and the client does not.

To-Do:
  • Add the ability to disable or enable the mod without reinstall/uninstall
  • Add mod options to allow the buffer zone to be modified (eg from around 70% to 80% etc.)

@clam, likely some time after 42 drops officially. Not sure how mod options will work when its done, and I will have to tie lua into the Java. Glad you like the mod.

Love this mod! When do you think we will be able to adjust the %? :)

@tkonrye thanks for clarifying! Can't wait to play with this again, once B42 matures. :)

Nothing I have created with code replacements have been modified for B42. As updates come in, it brakes the changes so I am waiting :)

Did you do the file replacement (eg copy the zombie folder), as this 100% is fully functional and tested.

doesnt seem to work.
