Known issues and how to fix them

This guide focuses on the known issues and gives some hints on how to fix them. If you're having a problem with the game, take a look at this list and check the suggested solutions.

I found a bug!
Please use the in-game Bug Reporter tool, as it provides us with your description, screenshot, and game log, which help us greatly in fixing the bug! You will find it in the ESC menu of the game.
Remember to name the bug and then describe what was happening in the game when it occurred.

My bug reporter doesn’t work.
You may make a community post containing a link to the screenshot or/and the video showing what happened.

Where to find a player.log file?
Player.log can be found at: C:\Users\{USER_NAME}\AppData\LocalLow\JutsuGames\Infection Free Zone.

There, you will find 2 files:
- Player.log - the file from your latest gameplay,
- Player-prev.log - the file from your second to last gameplay


When needed, attach them to your e-mail and use them to report an issue.
Where do find a crash file?
Crash files can be found at: C:\Users\{USER_NAME}\AppData\Local\Temp\JutsuGames\Infection Free Zone\Crashes.

There you will find a file ending with .dmp.

If your game crashed, please, send us this file at contact@gameops.pl with a brief description of what happened in the game before the crash.
My game keeps crashing during loading/during autosave/at 6 am or 6 pm ingame time.
1. Try to remove excess autosaves located at C:\Users\USER\AppData\LocalLow\JutsuGames\Infection Free Zone\Saves.

2. Check the option ‘limit autosaves’ in the game’s settings.

This is a known workaround until we manage to fix the issue.

My game crashes at random moments

1. Try playing on a map with a lower number of buildings. 5000 buildings is the average. There will be less data to process and it should make it easier for some hardware to launch the game properly.




2. Check if your drivers are updated. The lack of driver updates has caused this issue for some users in the past.

3. Check if your hardware meets the minimum requirements of the game. If you’re using an integrated graphic card, the game probably won’t run on your PC/notebook.




4. Also, if you’re using an Intel processor, we got reports that some issues may be related to a flawed series of processors that Intel released to the market. Please, make sure that your processor wasn’t affected by this. If it was, please, try updating your processor’s BIOS, as advised above, and check if it helps in your case.

If it keeps happening to you anyway, send us a bug report with the player.log and crash file to contact@gameops.pl so we can investigate further.

My game is lagging so much that it’s unplayable. What can I do to improve its optimization?
Optimization is a top priority for us, and our team constantly looks for new ways to improve it.

I cannot load a savegame
As the game is in Early Access and in constant development, some older saves might not be supported anymore. Sorry about that.

1. You can revert to an older BETA (called “previous”) to check your save there and continue the game without the updates.


2. Sometimes, if you saved a longer gameplay, loading it up may take a longer while as there is a lot of data to be processed. In this case, we recommend giving it a couple of minutes.

If this piece of advice won’t work for you, our team is aware of this issue, and we’re actively working on various fixes, as it seems to be caused by multiple different reasons. In the meantime, please send us the broken save file and player.log to contact@gameops.pl so we can investigate further.

I can’t save a game
1. If you’re using a cloud save feature (like Steam Cloud), double-check if it’s syncing correctly.

2. If that’s not the issue, it could be related to corrupted game files. We suggest verifying the integrity of the game files through your game launcher.




3. If none of these help, please send us a message at contact@gameops.pl, and we’ll work to resolve the issue.
My game is stuck in never-ending loading

1. Please ensure that your Internet connection is stable, as the game requires it to download map data.

2. Additionally, check that you have enough free space on your C: drive to store the map properly.

3. If everything checks out, try restarting the game and see if that resolves the issue.

4. If these don’t work, reducing your graphics settings might help speed up loading times.

I bought the game, but can’t launch it

1. Please ensure your antivirus software isn’t blocking the game, as this is a common issue. You can add the game to your antivirus exceptions list.

2. Try running the game as an administrator.

3. You may also try verifying the integrity of the game’s files or reinstalling it.

4. Don’t forget to check if your system meets the minimum requirements listed on Steam.

5. Lastly, make sure your graphics drivers are up to date.

There’s not enough content
The game is still in Early Access, and we’re hard at work adding new content and features. We post regular updates every few weeks/months, with new mechanics and improvements. As we aim for a community-driven development process, your input will help guide the game's direction.

Too much micromanagement! Please, add more automatization!
We understand that micromanagement can be overwhelming.

To help streamline gameplay, we’ve implemented several features:
1. The Repair All option allows for quicker repairs, and resources are easier to gather through various sources, reducing the need for constant task assignments.




2. Buildings can now be placed over gatherable objects, enabling workers to scavenge automatically.



3. The POI Filter has also been added to save you time when analyzing buildings on the map.




4. We’ve also added new hotkeys for actions like Repair and Deconstruct, making it faster to manage your units.

We encourage you to explore these options to enhance your gameplay experience!
We can now also officially announce that we’re working on a Repairment building and Stop to Shoot option for the squads. That’s not the end, though, as our team keeps discussing more solutions that should address any micromanagement concerns.
The transmissions appear a bit too often
If you find them overwhelming, we recommend selecting the “No story” or “No tutorial” mode in the game customization screen. This option allows you to enjoy the gameplay without the additional transmissions.

The game is too difficult!
1. Make sure you adjust certain parameters such as the number of hordes and initial resources at the beginning of each new gameplay.



2. You can also change it during the gameplay by clicking ESC and then Customize.



These settings directly influence the game's difficulty level, and you'll find explanations accompanying each adjustment.


3. If this doesn’t work for you and the game is still too hard, please, try playing in a less populated city. The more populated the city is, the more infected might appear.


4. Finally, we suggest playing in one of the recommended cities, which are designed to offer a more balanced difficulty. Choose one that offers the preferred difficulty level (information given at the bottom of the menu window). Check if it’s easier for you there, and let us know if your experience was better.


My city is not mapped correctly
Unfortunately, detailed map data is unavailable for some regions. First, check OpenStreetMap.org if they provide better data.
In some places like China, for example, unrestricted map data access is not allowed, therefore we use simplified or obfuscated data.

With over 100,000 cities globally, manually correcting mapping inaccuracies presents a formidable challenge for our small team. We recognize the importance of addressing these issues, though our capacity to do so individually is limited.

There are no cars on the map
Number of the vehicles is randomized, based on the general data of the region - primarily the number of buildings and their usage. Some maps might lack the vehicles at all, while sometimes it is just pure luck.

When starting a game, look at the number of vehicles given at the bottom of the information tab.

There are no special resources on the map
The resources are spawned in the Points Of Interest, based on the map data. If the region is mapped poorly in OpenStreetMaps, then only a few POI are generated.

Use the MapEditor to add extra POIs to your map or select one of the recommended maps. The instructions on how to use it are available HERE.
My squad/worker is stuck in the building/between the buildings
1. Try reloading your last save game and see if it helps.




2. If it doesn’t, you may try to load the save from before it occurred or, eventually, deconstruct the building/s in the way as a workaround.

Deconstruction is stuck at 100% (or lower)
While it is a known issue and we haven’t found the solution to the problem yet, a workaround that works often is unassigning all the workers and assigning back only one.




Alternatively, sometimes reloading the last savegame also helps.

please fix the bug to connect servers, I can not create a game, solutions are not found, since the beginning when I bought the game immediately this bug
