Description
Adds a variant of the war queen mech: the work queen, capable of gestating various worker urchins.

Work queen operating instructions

Have you ever had an emergency where you needed a lot of manpower but didn't have enough?
We are here to help you out!
Need a building done fast? Pop out a few builder urchins!
Need to take care of an urgent harvest of crops? Pop out a few grower urchins!
Is your warehouse a mess? Pop out a few hauler urchins!
Got a mountain in the way? Pop out a few miner urchins!
Need to clean up the mess the insect hive made? Pop out a few cleaner urchins!
Got a raid to deal with? Pop out a few - wait, that question isn't supposed to be here..



Added mechs




The work queen can also devour depleted urchins for 15 steel on its own and be instructed to automaticly produce the last worker urchin should the urchin count fall below 3.



Worker urchins inherit any work speed enhancments from the work queen.

Added scenario



You awake in your cryptosleep sarcophagi to the sound of sirens and ripping metal.
You barely get to your shuttle, where your old companoid mech is already waiting for your commands, before the ship gets torn apart.
Your shuttle got damaged in the process and you are forced to crashland at the next best planet.

Since your starting character will lack some skills, this is a difficult scenario, where you'll need to manage the scarce resources of your shuttle. While there is a work queen mechanoid inside your shuttle, you currently have no way to recharge its power core.

Inbuild modinteraction

1.5 only - This mod will also add new urchin gestation upgrades when Mechanoid Upgrades is used.



Requirements
For 1.5: Biotech DLC & harmony
For 1.6: Biotech DLC & [AV] Framework

Known issues with 1.6
minurchins can be forced to drill but will never start to actually do it - they will ignore that command and work properly even if they show that drilling is a qued command (I don't intend on making them able to drill)

CE?
Thats up to them. Currently CE has its own integrated patch for this mod. I don't have anything to do with it.

Modconflicts:
- 1.5 - unknown mod - game crash when creating urchins - if you know which mod is causing it please let me know

Can this be safly added to an ongoing save?
Yes.

Can this be safly removed from an ongoing save?
Yes, with the usual one-time errors for removing a content-adding mod.



Does this change the war queen mech?
No.

How can I recyle the depleted urchins?
Just like any other mechanoid. Check the crafting spot or the machining table for the shred mechanoid bill and change the details. They count as friendly corpses.


Why make this mod?
This was an open idea from the unoffical rimworld discord server from a user named Soph.
I liked it and picked it up, although not without adding my own spin to it.

Works on its own, so its probably a modconflict. Without any errorlog there is nothing I can do.

This mod causes pawns to not spawn at all when generating a new game with devtest or even normally.

Probably a conflict with another mod, considering that no one else has reported such an issue, but its whatever, I'll disable this mod for the time being.

There is a setting for it. Check the urchin-Tab on the work queen.

Not by default. It is set up in a way that it will only check for the urchins which it can also produce.

That mod is just removing corpses for war urchins. My mod does not touch war urchins, so there is no interaction between them.
