Description

The Little Guy On A Big Boat

My entry into Whack Al's carrier challenge varied greatly in what it would be from an A-4, an F8F bearcat, and finally a De Havilland Vampire. Although inspired by the Vampire, the Sea Sprite differs in size and strengths. Accelerating to takeoff speed almost immediately and capable of 350 knots (110 knots faster than NNTC's submission), the Sprite is at home anywhere with a short runway. At only 10x8.25 meters in size, it easily fits in most carriers built within the confines of the unmodded workbench. On top of this is the agility traded for stability. Landing is very easy and long flights are comfortable.

Carrying only 800 litres but capable of over 100km of range at full throttle, the Sprite is a logistical dream. At 19,900 dollars and 1,700 mass, it also bears little weight and expense on ship and wallet. All of this with a gorgeous airframe!

Startup:
> Refuel tanks (they spawn at a half-filled state)
> Turn ON "ENGINE MASTER"
> HOLD "ENGINE MAGNETO"
> Turn ON "RELEASE WHEEL BRAKES"
> Throttle UP and pull UP

Carrier Landing:
> Turn OFF "RELEASE WHEEL BRAKES"
> Turn OFF "RETRACT LANDING GEAR"
> Turn ON "LOWER ARRESTING HOOK"
> Throttle DOWN to .35
> Land (the arresting hook can work with any surface whether or not it has an electric connector)

Rearming:
> Refueling is on the side of the aircraft, down low, and beneath the wing roots.
> A button is hidden beside the left pylon. Press it before rearming bombs.
> Hose and cable are in a darker patch of paint under the plane.

I actually can’t remember how they fire.

For what to drop, bombs and missiles work.

what do you suggest to put on the pylons, and do they fire together or one after the other?

the only problem i could have with this is that you can only rearm half of the machine guns
