generic's realistic damage mod

Description
tl;dr: your actions now have major consequences

NOTE: this mod only changes things for the "realistic" damage setting, i haven't touched normal or intense.

the best way i can describe this mod is a total overhaul of the damage system. it behaves how you would expect it to. health is less important overall, as dinks and bumps are practically inconsequential, while slamming into something going 70+ will instantly total your car. wheels now snap off much easier too. you will no longer be wrecked by bumps either, and will need to actually hit something.

aside from removing the engine fire and towering smoke effects, and replacing them with a much more realistic white smoke, this mod is purely mechanical and gameplay changes. all effects you see in the pictures are from various other mods. (particles 2022+, more road dust, and better contact)

this mod also works really well with the "wreckfest realism overhaul" mod

If Wreckfest were to use a realistic damage system like BeamNG for example, one crash would break your oilpan and or radiator, and your engine would overheat after one lap. Such a choice isn't very fun gameplay wise. I've just edited the damage to make it seem more realistic. Wreckfest just slows the acceleration of your engine, meaning that top speed isn't affected.

I know, but I digress... I figured it out after further testing that it weren't like that in other damage types except for "extreme." Guess I played with that damage type abit too often...

Wreckfest uses a damage/health system and not a physical simulation. You can't completely disable your engine.

I'd recommend everybody to subscribe to "FlatOut UC style lighting" mod for anything realism, it makes the game looked 100 times better. As if to give the game some sort of "characteristic" punch to it from an otherwise bland looking lighting in vanilla game. :steamhappy:

Also, it is just me or the vehicle engine didn't seems to be deteriorate when damaged? (Red engine icon) it still drives at top speed as if it was nothing. I hope it doesn't apply to every damageable parts...

thank you, if you have any bugs/complaints, please report them and i'll try my best to fix them. (make sure it's at the bottom of your mods list)
