Let's be honest. Surviving in the Zombocalypse is stressful. At the end of the day, when your arm is sore from swinging your crowbar all day, and your legs are tired of running, what you really want is a stiff drink. But what to do when all the liquor stores run dry?
Make your own, of course.
Shiners is a (mostly) realistic mod designed to add distilling to Project Zomboid. Yes, I know this has been done before, but I'm a perfectionist I wanted a distilling mod that accurately represented the extensive time and effort that goes into distilling alcohol from raw fruit or grains.
You'll have to grow your produce, boil it down into a mash, ferment that mash into a wash, and distill that wash into moonshine. You can drink the moonshine, or, if you're skilled enough and patient enough, further distill and filter it down into vodka. Or you can craft some barrels and age it into whiskey.
Oh, and you'll need a still. That shouldn't be too hard, right? Just some metal, screws, welding supplies... you'll get it done in no time.
But at the end of all that effort, when you're kicked back on the couch in your compound, sipping a glass of bourbon you made yourself all the way from the corn in the ground, it'll all be worth it.
Just keep telling yourself that.
Credit where credit is due: inspiration for this mod comes from Mackus103 and his MoreBrews mod, from which I have shamelessly stolen the rot/fermentation mechanic.
This mod also requires SapphsCooking, though a standalone version is coming.
What's New? Jars! You can now put moonshine in jars. Cause, yknow.
Finally, this mod uses the Crafting Tables framework from TheHunterJP for the still.
On the drawing board for future versions:

• Applejack from apples
• Gin from vodka and herbs
• Compatibility with Sapphs mixed drinks, and more native mixed drinks
• Infused/flavored vodkas
• Standalone version to avoid dependencies, if desired
