Hello everyone and I present to your attention the M103!!! This is the first American tank I made. The choice was strange to me, to make the first American car, namely the M103, and not, for example, any Sherman. It was also this tank that became the first American tank made by me And the first NON-French tank with a gun raising and lowering system.

The 120 mm Gun Tank M103 is an American heavy tank. After the end of World War II, the American army lost interest in heavy tanks. Both their high cost and unsuccessful projects in the form of T32 and T29/T30/T34 series machines contributed to this. Nevertheless, in 1948, a draft of a new T43 tank was proposed, which attracted the attention of the military with its small size, improved armor and powerful 120 mm cannon, especially relevant against the background of weaker medium tank guns and thick armor of the Soviet IS-3/IS-4.The beginning of the Korean War fueled interest in the project even more. The first experimental tank was built and submitted for testing in the summer of 1951, however, without waiting for the full completion of the tests, Chrysler produced 300 T43E1 in 1953-1954. As a result, the cars were made in a hurry, and their tests were unsatisfactory. Because of this, further production was canceled, and the US Army, not wanting to lose ready-made tanks, adopted them in 1956 after Chrysler eliminated some shortcomings. They received the designation M103 Heavy Tank. 80 tanks entered the US Army, and the remaining 18 M103 and 202 vehicles, modified to the M103A1 level, were sent to the US Marine Corps (KMP). As part of the KMP, M103 tanks were in service with the fourth companies in three tank battalions, as well as in reserve units. They remained in service until 1973, when they were replaced by the latest models of the M60 main battle tank.
