[Meltdown] Modular Bubble Shield Rebalance

Description
This is a rebalance from [Beta] Modular+++ Shields v0.62b mod and therefore requires that mod to work.

Changes Summary
I made a lot of changes from the original mod. You can read the changes in the changelog. To sum it up:
  • COMPLETELY REMADE BUBBLE SHIELDS (read below).
  • Removed vanilla shields and replaced them with the new shields.
  • Added Emmiter Effects, Sound, and some minor changes.
  • Modified all parts names, titles, descriptions.
  • Modified some graphic and sound effects to match the newest vanilla effects.
  • Added stats to the toggles.
  • Modified tech.
  • Modified distances and arcs to be more balanced, specially removed the 200º arc, and the ridiculous bubble sizes, and rebalanced the line shapes.
  • Modified Large shields to match Vainilla's large shields.
  • Added Model-B ship as a starter ship for career mode.
  • Added modular capabilities to the Bubble Shields.
  • Added Overclock to all parts.
  • Added a Spanish translation.
Bubble Shields
  • Small Bubble shield has 4 segments each with 5000 HP and 10 penetration resistance.
  • Large Bubble shield has 6 segments each with 10000 HP and 20 penetration resistance.
  • Shield Battery Module can be placed adjacent to a bubble shield, increasing the radius, penetration resistance and health of each segment.
The idea of a segmented shield is for balance. Normally, you can use focus fire toward a ship, ignoring most of their shields to attack a specific point. With original bubble shields, that was impossible, making them too resilient against concentrated fire. Now they have segments, which allows that tactic to be used against bubble shields. The Tiny Shield Generators can be used to provide extra health to help you against focused fire, allowing you to build a modular shield.

Bugs Known that I have no idea how to fix:
  • Small and Large Shields blink and kind of jump when changing from some angles to some other angles.
  • Changing from Arc to Line or Line to Arc in Small Shield isn't smooth.
  • Shield Battery Modules show a shield connection icon in both directions.
  • By default, the shield are always rotated to the left, even though I made front be the default angle.
  • Tiny Shield (flat shields) effects look ugly.
  • Shield Battery Module appears twice in the priority section.
  • I can't find the way to add a nice BuildBox for the Bubble Shield to show radius, health and penetration resistance as the Resonancer Lance Turrent.
  • If you attach a line of Shield Battery Modules (more than 1) to two Bubble Shield, it hard crashes.
  • If you had a shield before the update, you might need to power it off and on to make it work (cause it uses triggers and you need to update them).
    In the worst cases, you might have to remove it and place it again, or even start a new game :(.

Oh, I will have to check that. Honestly, the original mod is barely used. I think I only use it for the ui toggles. The vanilla shields from the original mod had been completely replaced and so removing the dependency won't change anything. Honestly, put all the effort in the bubble shield and didn't test the vanilla shields. I will have to check them.

Any chance of removing the dependency on [Beta] Modular+++ Shields v0.62b which hasn't been updated to Meltdown (at least until it does)?

I'm getting occasional crashes with the vanilla shields when they go into the area around the star (I was pushing them). The bubble shields don't seem to have this issue.

Removing the "swefpifh.SpecialShield (0.62b)" mod stops the crashes.

It is not intended to use shield battery modules to join multiple bubble shields. Indeed, doing that can actually cause a crash. I have to fix that, but currently I have other priorities.

@enderluck maybe make it so you CANT use shield batteries to join many shields, like how you cant put anything in front of thrusters

Then would at least increasing the radius that the batteries give be able? I feel like this mod really forces you to start from scratch, instead of being easy to modify already existing designs, because 1m isn't much for a large ship, thanks

@licflagg, at the moment, I didn't implement any special code to prevent unexpected behaviour when the same modular battery line is being attached to multiple shields. I don't know when I will try to fix that behaviour cause I want to do many other things first. The idea is that you use a modular battery to affect only ONE shield at a time.

@TheKorpsemen, I don't understand the problem. I didn't like that the previous mod had too much radius for the shields so I reduced their size to match vanilla shields. However, as I know that is problematic cause many people would like to make larger ships, I implemented the mechanic of modular batteries to increase the radius. I won't increase the base range of the bubble shields.

Absolutely loving this mod, literally my only complaint I have is that the new sizing function is a bit too much of a change, especially for ships with the previous shields. It does present a fun challenge but I feel that this mod would benefit the "resize shield" feature of the previous mod, and have this current system be a bit of a cherry on top if you want it even bigger, otherwise I love the mod!

Found a pretty bad bug: When using two shields, and attempting to join them with the battery modules, a single line works just fine, but any longer, and the game hard-crashes. not even with the error reporter. here's an example:

O = shield - = battery
O-O: fine. shields function normally
O--O, O---O or greater: Hard crash

How big is the largest size you can get the bubble shield up to?
