CAI TB-11 "Osteornis"

Brought into service after the Xericeps but before any other dedicated bombers, the Osteornis torpedo bombers form the bulk of Pydrinck's anti-shipping aerial capabilities. With an array of 3 lightened "Redtail" torpedoes specially designed for aircraft use these planes can fill the path of any vessel with hazards swiftly and efficiently; employed en masse and with their payload fired in a wide spread, there are few ships capable of evading them entirely. Their unusual push-pull engine configuration was intended to give them an acceptable take off distance and speed despite the considerable weight of their weaponry, though most later Pydrinckian aircraft use more conventional twin engine designs for this purpose. Defensive armament consists of the standard twin machineguns mounted on a rail for a wide arc of fire, with a single gun fixed forwards for usage by the pilot. The ponderous disposition of these planes when loaded for combat combined with the near universally escorted nature of their missions leaves this latter weapon rarely used, those few pilots claiming to have downed hostile fighters in a dogfight becoming legendary within the bomber corps' ranks.
