ability to dash out of (or into) danger by pressing a hotkey, making wilda quickly move toward the cursor with a lengthy cooldown. could copy wheeler's dodge/slide/whatever it is animation.
don't starve's combat is really boring and basic, even with the cool relationship wilda has with her sanity and health. an extra movement option like this would go a HUGE way toward making her a really fun combat character like wathom.
>look inside
>The lower her health the faster she moves
>mfw another light but fast character
"Not mentally stable"
- nightmares deal 25% more damage to her (maybe even some planar damage if you can manage to make that balanced).
- wilda does not gain sanity when attacked by nightmares like she does with most creatures.
- wilda's damage buff is reduced by 50% against nightmares, so it's a max of 1.5x damage to them instead of 2x.
- nightmares spawn slightly more often for wilda when she's insane (could be done by just spawning an extra crawling horror/terrorbeak every 10 seconds or something while wilda's sanity is below 15%)
these changes would make it more punishing to go insane so it can't be abused as much for free damage, but mainly in a way that's fun and connects to her main upsides making combat easier.
once again, i'm excited to see what you come up with cause wilda's already a really fun character. also good point about the healing food downside, even if it's meant to come alongside a buff to dedicated healing items.
While i do agree that wilda does need downsides, making it harder to heal from food is a bit too much of a annoyance since let's be honest, the "dedicated healing consumables" are kind of crap compared to food. Tho with a custom craft it might be a good downside.
Won't go into detail into what i'm trying to cook up with her, as i feel like spoiling stuff is only going to lead to disappointment.
Only thing i will say is that i will most likely leave her base as is, and add all the downsides in the skill tree, as i feel like that is the better way to fundamentally change a modded character without annoying the players that enjoyed her base and don't feel like interacting with the new stuff.
Again, thanks a lot for the feedback.
