Welcome to Ark of Charon. Hope you enjoy the game.

A great alternative to the regular story mode.

I dont know very much about the roguelike mode in this game as of yet but it looks interesting as you can build up and get stronger as you restart new games.

Next we have normal game mode with two options and a third coming
I have only played the New World so far. It's where enemies come at you once you travel from point to point on your ark. I'm uncertain of the exact time limit you get between points to do your build up of your ark. I do know it goes by days but I don't know how much real time is one day. If someone can verify this time I can add it later. If you don't head out in time you will start to take damage by the storm. So note that the game does force you into a timer progression in New World on Normal Mode.
Entering the Game
When you first jump into normal mode you start with three Golems. They are your builders, growers, repairers, and everything else you need to function. If you ever played anything like Oxygen Not Included you will grasp all of this very fast.
You will then see your zone at this point when you zoom out. I believe the scale is the same on every mode. The beginning can be slow with only three Golem and being on a timer. So I suggest mining all the wood and stone you can.

Save the crop harvest for when the item reaches 100% it will yield more.





Once you start building your basics be sure to get farming technology researched. I feel it's one of the more important factors since the Golem eat everyday and natural food only grows in sunlight where as what you plant grows day or night.

You will also be introduced to tutorial mission which will help guide you the basic.
Ladders are your friend and cost nothing to build. So don't be afraid to build ladders.

Tiles vs Pillars
Be sure to know that Tiles must be climbed over where as Pillars are a back object and have no path finding issues with the Golem.
initial Defense
You always start off with the basic wood ballista. It has easy arc firing and can kill the basic enemies in 2 shots.

VERY IMPORTANT NOTE AS OF RIGHT NOW SETTING ANY DEFENSE ACTIVE WILL MAKE IT INACTIVE.
So just leave the setting to inactive if you want your defenses to automatically attack.
Controlling your defense by using Manual will use no ammo. Take advantage of this. I'm sure you will learn to be more accurate.
I find the trebuchet to be really good and its the first weapons unlock.

Choosing your path
Each area will have various information of what path you want to take.
Again being aware of the storm is important and be sure all Golem are on the ark before departing.
