Description
The 200 Series (200系) is a AGT vehicle operated by Osaka Metro on the Nankō Port Town Line (New Tram).

Entering service in 2016 as the third generation of AGT vehicles in Osaka, the 200 series would replace all previous rolling stock on the line. It is a light automated vehicle with rubber types running on guideways, similar to other AGT systems in Japan. Each set was painted with a different color and Osaka City had held a quiz for the public the guess the color of the next set to enter service. The prototype set produced in 2015 has slightly smaller front windows compared to later mass produced vehicles, and some later sets are equipped with LED headlights. A total of 80 cars in 20 4-car sets were produced until 2019, and the type was the last new vehicle to be introduced before the reorganisation of Osaka's municipal transit system into Osaka Metro. The 203 and 204 vehicle numbers are missing in the current formation in anticipation of a future extension to 6-cars, although there are no extension plans at the moment. Vehicles produced prior to the formation of Osaka Metro bear the 'New Tram' logo, while later sets have the Osaka Metro logo.
