actually found that this worked fine for me but not my partner (who i was testing it out for) -- might be a mod load order issue might be something else. is the source for this available, scurvyez? we're both programmers with some mod dev experience and i would be happy to take a stab at updating this

this seems to be working fine on 1.6! (loaded a save with a shader enabled and everything seemed A-OK!)

Can confirm this doesn't simulate colorblindness, it actually corrects for it and makes the scenery more readable. Good job!

@Partygurke
No. All this is doing is changing what color things are to increase contrast in the part of the spectrum you can see. You will not see the game like a non colorblind person does, as the colors are being shifted by a shader.

@Scurvyez
Shader-based colorblindness filters don't work that well for this sort of thing. You'd be better off changing the game art to recolor elements of the game to increase contrast for each type of color correction required, as the problem is ultimately color contrast for people who can't see certain wavelengths. Just shifting everything with a shader won't solve the problem.

I made this comparison a while back. The bottom row is not in-game, it is an example of what actual accessibility colors might look like. https://i.imgur.com/w9pPeTV.png

Instead of dulling red (which is what's already happening in protanomalous vision), it cranks up the brightness of red and pushes it toward magenta.

@Partygurke If I understand correctly, in the third image on the left side, it should be somewhat easier for you to spot chemfuel, flowers, blood stains, and carnivore fine meals?

@Partygurke @ZX Zero: No, these shaders doesn't correct color for colorblidness, they simulate colorblidness instead. If something, they'll even make it harder for a colorblind to distinguish the colors. If you need something to help you distinguish colors in Rimworld, I'll recommend to set up a shortcut for the Colorblidness Filter that already came with windows.

@Partygurke these shaders will adapt the colors to your eyes so you can see different builds with different colors, i don't have color blindness so i don't know how will be the different with mod.
