INOP MUSEUM PIECE: F4U Corsair (for keyboard!) Fighter Plane

ATTENTION! DOESN'T WORK ANYMORE. KEPT ON THE WORKSHOP ONLY AS A MUSEUM PIECE.

Controlls (optimized for keyboard):
Thrust: SPACE+V -
Pitch: W+S -
Roll: A+D -
Elevators: T -
Landing gear: G -
Flaps: F -


I recommend flying on the Super Sonic Map. The island is just too small.

Checklist for take off:
1. F4U wingshape correct? (CTRL Left) -
2. Landing gear down? (G) -
3. Flaps down? (F) -
4. Elevators tilted? (T) -
5. GO! (SPACE) -
6. Counter steer if plane drifts off (A+D) -
7. Wait for lift off! -

After lift off:
1. Retract landing gear (G) -
2. Neutralize elevators (T) -
3. Flaps up!!! (F) (If you don't bring the flaps up, the load on the wings will become too big for the servos to maintain the shape and you can see a plane clap it's wings over its head. If that happens: Bring them mf flaps up!!!) -

The landing gear behaves somewhat weirdly while on the ground. That's due to the servos which make the wheels tilt towards the wings when retracted. That's the movement the F4U landing gear does, so it was important for me to mimic it. If you don't like it, just redesign the landing gear. ;)

I wish the servos would lock in their positions. That would solve two issues: First, the landing gear doing weird stuff while on the ground. Second, the wings tilting out of position when having the flaps down at high speeds.

Also, I wish there were some decals. I'd love to put at least some stars and some writing on this plane.
