Description
The N100 Series (N100系) is a limited express type EMU operated by Tobu Railway.

A luxury tourist train entering service in 2023, the N100 series "Spacia X" was designed for Tobu's popular services to Nikko and Kinugawa Onsen. It is the successor of the 100 series "Spacia" and intended to be the next generation flagship vehicle of the company. The exterior of the vehicles are white with black around the front and side windows, cars 1 and 6 feature the type's distinctive hexagonal 'x-shaped' windows, inspired by traditional crafts of the Nikko area. There are a total of 6 different kinds of seating onboard, all except the standard seats require an additional charge. Car 1 in the Nikko direction is the "Cockpit Lounge", which has sofa seats placed around coffee tables. The interior of the car is a mixture of modern and traditional luxury modelled after the Nikko Kanaya Hotel, with red carpets and a cafe counter serving craft beer and coffee. Car 2 has 35 premium seats similar to business class seats on airlines, they electric reclining mechanisms and movable headrests, each seat is within it's own shell to allow reclining without disturbing other passengers. The leading car in the Asakusa direction has private compartments for four passengers, featuring a U-shaped sofa and a foldable table. Behind the driver's compartment is the "Cockpit Suite", a spacious room with movable sofas modelled after a private jet. This is the highest class of seating and also has a view into the driver's compartment and thus the rail tracks. In addition, the 3 cars with premium seating are equipped with active suspension for improved ride quality. The N100 series is formed of 6-car sets like the 100 series, 2 sets were produced in 2023 and 2 in 2024 for a total of 24 cars. It is unknown whether there are any additional vehicles on order as of current.
