Burn the Nightelm Forests (Alshua's Ellyrion Restriction Submod)

Description
This tiny, optional submod restricts all new units and characters in Alshua's Ellyrion so only Ellyrion can recruit them. New landmarks are similarly restricted.

NOTE: in the default mod, most units are already restricted to be recruited only within the geographical kingdom of Ellyrion.

My mods prioritize a painstaking amount of balance, and an aversion to disrupting vanilla playstyle. The new lord and hero type and the new units in Alshua's Ellyrion are intended to slip into your experience as seamlessly as possible, and avoid overpowering vanilla content. However, if you want an EVEN STRICTER approach, this mod denies access to the new Ellyrian units, unless you are playing Ellyrion yourself. The new cavalry characters and units will just be something you encounter when interacting with Ellyrion.



Changes for non-Ellyrion High Elf factions
  • Cannot recruit Ellyrion Princess generic lord
  • Cannot recruit Harbinger generic hero
  • Cannot recruit any of the new Ellyrian units added by the mod
  • Cannot build Tier 4 stables
  • Cannot build the High Elf version of the Couronne Tournament Grounds (in Bretonnia), or the distant Temple of Kurnous
  • CAN still confederate Ellyrion, gain Aelin Redmane, and potentially inherit some new troops or characters, but won't be able to make new ones

@JazzMonk - This particular mod will work fine with 5.1.3. The main Ellyrion mod, probably not.

Would be cool if this made you have to build the landmark specifically to recruit the units and hero. Either way, brilliant work! :tgrin:

@Epic Gamer - That's close enough to how the default mod treats it already. These submods are just for people who want it to be all-or-nothing.

While I don't mind the new units, I think it might be better if their recruitment was simply limited to an Ellyrion landmark.
