Antumbra Saga

ΠΕΡΙΓΡΑΦΗ
Venture into a sprawling campaign set on the Pacific Coast. In Antumbra Saga you will rise from a lowly shadowrunner to a pivotal player in the struggle between CalFree and Tir Tairngire. Along the way you’ll nurture alliances, build up a party, and make decisions that will affect your fate and that of the factions you encounter.

Features
  • Experience a story-focused, semi-linear campaign. While you start out as a pawn in others’ schemes, you’ll gain more control over your destiny as the game progresses.
  • The decisions you make over the course of the game will impact the story and gameplay.
  • Recruit a variety of original companion runners, each with their own unique skills, personality, and banters.
  • Determine your fate with one of six epilogues reflecting the goals you’ve set for your character and your success at achieving them.
  • Overcome occasional challenges and puzzles, as well as many intense combat encounters.
  • Show off your social skills with etiquettes, or your decking skills with optional trips into the Matrix. (Pure Deckers are not recommended, but you’ll have the opportunity to recruit a companion Decker or develop a hybrid build for yourself.)

Status

Antumbra Saga seems to be running well for most players. If you find any bugs, please report your findings to the bug thread. In most cases, I’ll be able to release an update that will just require you to restart your current scene.

a neat little adventure. acts 1 and 2 are rough, both in gameplay and in writing. the third act is great, apart from the underwhelming ending. it's a deus ex machnina that abruptly removes your agency. I suspect the campaign was supposed to be longer, but the developer had to end it there.

"combat-heavy"? definitely. *a lot* of shooting, not that much talking. it's a shame, I value Shadowrun more for the narrative than the mechanics. also, apart from the first act and the final mission, the entire campaign was very easy. my character was pistol-specialized (i.e. underpowered until higher levels), and I still experienced no friction throughout most of the game.

regarding leftism. it's here, but it doesn't harm the story significantly. doesn't feel out of place or like you're being lectured. this author did a better job weaving their beliefs into the story than the creators of Dragonfall. same with the depiction of racism – more believable here than in the Berlin camaign.

Literally impossible to beat the first level as a shaman. No conjuring points, combat broken up into 4 segments (ie. with non-combat gaps that cause summons to despawn instead of having reinforcements within same combat like normal) and best of all the guy who sells you starting gear just doesn't have a conjuring weapon for sale

In fact the first level in general has just awful design in general. I managed to clear all 4 base campaigns and both this author's other campaigns on max difficulty with only 3 combat related reloads, I am already at 6 on the first level here.

Hi, Sorry if this has been answered elsewhere, but I didn't want to get spoilers in my search for an answer. My character is still solo at this point. He's been shot up quite a bit making a dash for Kali. I told her what's in the box, and she asked me to explore the basement. When the game resumes after that, her guards keep shooting even though she said they wouldn't. I assume there's something going on here that I've overlooked, or perhaps something is not right?

This was clearly made in the 2010s. It is very, very noticeably left wing. For no apparent reason a racist faction appears fairly early in the game. Out of spite I wanted to try to join them because I saw where this was headed. Of course there was never an option to join them or even use insults against metahumans. So much for roleplaying. Authors inserting their narratives was very noticeable.:steamthumbsdown::steamthumbsdown:
