Report a translation problem
1.I'm replaying your campaings at least once per year XD So...it seems i'm doing this for 10 years.... (now i'm feeling old again lol) Your works doesnt even looks like something fan made. Its profesional level of quiality.
2.At my first playtrough i also made it to Kali and completed the basement part solo. Cause... I havent hired a runner. It was like "Hey... Its just a delivery... milk run, why do i need help?" Yeah, there is no such things like milk runs, but everyone forgetting this time to time XD
3. I really hope you'll make a new campegin at some point. Only few people on our planet are capable of creating something beautiful as your campaigns. And most of them arent even playing shadowrun pc games!
@Virake: I appreciate the write-up! I definitely learned a lot over the course of making the campaign and I'm sure it shows. If you're curious about the story, you might be interested in the "California Free State" source book.
@Dr. Best: Welcome, thanks for sharing your thoughts! I feel very fond of Norton, glad he gave you some good chuckles. I think I remember the matrix soft-freeze you describe, if I remember correctly that can also happen in the base game sometimes so it's probably an engine bug, but I'll see if there's anything I can do on my end.
@Frenne Dilley: Glad you were able to get it running! The multiple versions of Shadowrun out there can make it confusing for sure.
@bearkatz5: Congrats on making it to Kali solo, that's difficult to pull off! Hm, I think it's probably a bug if the guards are still shooting at you after reaching her - I'll try to reproduce and send out an update if it's still happening.
Combat felt different compared to the base game, as it's more about enemy quantity than quality. Took some getting used to, but was a great excuse to go nuts with AoE skills.
Writing and major characters were good, with enough personality to make them memorable. Norton's antics gave me a good chuckle more than once.
Technically solid, didn't run into any major bugs - only one I can even remember was one of Hailey's matrix runs where the interface would get fidgety after using a certain attack program, but was easily circumvented by opening the menu.
All in all very enjoyable, looking forward to playing the other entrys in the Antumbra series.
"combat-heavy"? definitely. *a lot* of shooting, not that much talking. it's a shame, I value Shadowrun more for the narrative than the mechanics. also, apart from the first act and the final mission, the entire campaign was very easy. my character was pistol-specialized (i.e. underpowered until higher levels), and I still experienced no friction throughout most of the game.
regarding leftism. it's here, but it doesn't harm the story significantly. doesn't feel out of place or like you're being lectured. this author did a better job weaving their beliefs into the story than the creators of Dragonfall. same with the depiction of racism – more believable here than in the Berlin camaign.
In fact the first level in general has just awful design in general. I managed to clear all 4 base campaigns and both this author's other campaigns on max difficulty with only 3 combat related reloads, I am already at 6 on the first level here.
