Description
The A1200 Series (A1200形) is a tram type running on the Sapporo Streetcar system.

Entering service in 2013 as Sapporo's first low floor tram, the A1200 series "Polaris" is based on ALNA's "Little Dancer" family. It is a three-car articulated tram with a curved front window, being relatively small at 17 meters of length. The black and white color scheme differs from most tram vehicles and was inspired by the climate and atmosphere of Sapporo. A project to turn the Sapporo streetcar system into a loop line was underway during the A1200 series' entry in service, and much of the newly built infrastructure incorporated the same design elements. The middle car features long seats in the passenger cabin and fully flat floor as a result of it's bogieless design. The two end cars have cross seats on the raised sections. There are only three vehicles in existence, while more than a dozen was initially ordered, production shifted to the 1100 Series after accounting for delays caused by the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Currently, all vehicles are in operation on a specified low-floor tram timetable shared with the 1100 series.
